But I don't wear jeans. I have a few pair of running shorts, but no pants of any kind.

You're lucky to be able to do that. My problem is that I'm 4'11", very slender (a nice way of saying skinny as a stick), wear very little makeup, and most of the time my hair is just in a braid down my back.

Put me in jeans and a t-shirt and I look about 14 years old. Nothing wrong with looking 14, unless you're thirtysomething.

Hm... the only pocketed tee-shirt I have is pink (somewhere between salmon and coral). However, I don't use it much as there may be a black merino wool v-neck over it.

I wear...stuff you'd expect a very high-fashion woman to be wearing. Some of it may seem...a little slutty, but it's my style. I wear what's in, or at least what I like of it. I tend to get complements about my clothes all the time. Last year, I was voted best dressed in one of my classes. Hehe. Not only are my clothes very "now," but I also add accessories to pump up the appeal of them.

whatever's cheap or free and comfy...

    definitely not!...

    at nearly 70!?... be real!!

    to the max...

    loose, light, long, all-cotton...

though i was a designer-clad fashion plate in my old life, nowadays, as little as possible... a sleeveless, loose shift/dress/nightgown and nothing else... plastic sandals only when i go outside... barefoot or house slippers indoors...

I'm really into fashion but I wouldn't say that I just followed trends. I don't even wear labelled clothes. Why do you need a label? You can be your own brand!

Anyway at the moment I like wearing girly dresses with a retro leather jacket and some boots.

If I had to say what my style was I would say trendy and retro.

Casual. It's not about the way the clothes look for me. It's more how they feel. I can't stand jeans, because they're too tight. I usually just wear regular pants and T-shirts, but I guess the fact that I don't wear jeans makes me stand out more. All well. I care more about my hair than my clothes. :p

What? Denim is very comfortable... I wear it all the time. I've been looking for some pinstriped pants for a while now, too.

I am highly allergic to Hollister (That's right, popular things are hive-inducing for me), but I despise people with snarky sarcastic T-shirts, so I guess I'm just...average. For me, the pinnacle of fashion is either one of my ten Life is Good shirts (seriously) or my prized Abbey Road T-shirt. Often combined/switched with ratty sweatshirts or T-shirts from school plays. Almost always combined with jeans. (In Minnesota we have the four seasons: Almost Winter, Winter, Still Winter, and Road Construction. That last one's the only one where you're allowed to wear shorts.)
So I guess my style is practically-homeless-looking person...which is actually pretty awesome. (People on the street could start giving me money any day now!)

You'd hate me then, my only shirts are T-shirts that say things like "Save the Jonah" or "Nietzche is dead. - God" or "Yossarian Lives!" or "You might be a capoeirista if..." or "Please help liberate Pluto" or...yeah, you get the point. :D

I feel like I should go shopping. I have several T-Shirts from this store called Hastings as I used to work there. They give them out for free. To compliment those shirts, I have some jeans, a couple of other random pairs of pants, and a couple of long sleeved shirts that are almost falling apart. I don't think I've actually bought new shirts or pants in over a year. :\

For everyday life I'm usually found in a pair of jeans or a mini skirt, with a band or witty/sarcastic or just bluntly offensive 'saying' shirt on. For special occasions however, I wear dresses. I usually buy designer lables because they're good quality and they last ages, although often, they are wallet rape. lol.

I've actually found that half the time Eoz most of the name brand clothing you buy here isn't of that good a quality. Though it really depends on the name brand you wear to be honest.

If you want quality clothing you are looking at paying at least $90 for a causal top and $100 - $300 for a decent going out top. I actually got a dress once that cost $1500. It was bought for me and I wore it about 4 times. It was a plain blaack cocktail dress. Well not plain but was just the one colour I should say. But that is the price you've to pay for high standard quality clothing and one worth while paying if you want to get that kind of quality.

I don't do that often nowadays as I've kids and I buy 99% of my clothing online anyways. But I do like to buy italian imported clothing. There is a really nice shop in Subiaco I think that is an italian import shop. Can't remember exactly, but damn they had some nice stuff in there. Pity the top I bought got destroyed by babies spew......

Eek! That's why i thrift store and resale store shop. i get the designer goods and name brands for practically nothing. I bought my Vera Wang wedding dress with the tags still on it for $25, just the style I was wanting. Lots of stuff at the thrift and resale shops are new or practically new.

The trick to thrift shopping is to come ready to try things on (I always wear a leotard and tights under my clothes when I go.) Things come from the factory with the wrong size on the label. So perfectly new things wind up at the thrift because someone got it home and it didn't fit. It happens with shoes a lot.

yes they are always good that is for sure. If you've access to them that is. Which isn't always a possibilty. But I have been to one before don't worry. Im not against it at all. Heck I've picked up some awesome clothes from them.
