is this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RpNsUe2fpQc Chris Cornell, the Lead singer of Soundgarden-- Sound Flipin' Garden, people--and Audioslave, released that? What the hell is that? I used to like--love-- that man's music.
Chris Cornell is awesome. And at first I didn't think this was so bad... but eh. The beat is off and a bit annoying. The 'skipping' it does makes me twitch a little bit. Love his voice though. So there is 'one' good thing about it LOL.
Wow. I may have to start liking that man's music. That was very interesting. A bit Gnarls-Barkley-sounding here and there.
o_o You've heard his old stuff, right? ...And you think that is better Cat? xD I really can't say I like it. I heard another one of his newer songs that sounded very 'timbaland'. Meh. Of course I have a hard time parting with his old sound lol.
SOunding like timberland cant be good (sorry im oldschool) And with his stuff, most certainly old school!
I honestly never liked Audioslave. They weren't songs that made me punch my radio to a new station, but I never enjoyed them actively. I sort of tolerated them. This thing in the link, though, had some very interesting sounds and mixing going on. I was intrigued. So thanks to Ferret! I'd never have looked twice at anything that said Chris Cornell without this post.
Hm that's interesting. I'm a bit on the opposite spectrum of the opinion pool here LOL. His new stuff I think just sounds off, and a bit boring. His older sound I really enjoyed. Plus I love his voice. And I don't think these newer songs show it off as well.
Music is a funny tool. I mean i just hate mainstream music these days (well always mainly, maybe apart from peral jam and nirvana which was mainstream over here at the time). I just always find myself shuttering to radio crap (yes MO) these days. Unless its 2am and on some indepeandent readio station. I wonder why that is, its odd.
Lol yay me! I like that one more than Black Hole Sun actually. Well maybe. Maybe not. Okay no. -falls over- It's all great. e.o
I really can't explain it, Sol. Soundgarden and Audioslave always just sounded like maudlin whining to me. That Ground Zero piece was way more up-tempo, and used Cornell's tendency to, well, whine to good effect, having him wail and moan with a funky backbeat keeping it moving. I also really like Daft Punk, Chemical Brothers, and Aphex Twin. This probably explains a lot.
To Cat: Well that just goes to show that everyone has their own takes on things, and opinions of them. To me Cornell never sounds like he's 'whining'. It's just the way his voice is and I personally love how it sounds. Plus his lyrics always meant something. They were deep and thoughtful rather than just superficial. Again when it comes down to it though it's simply a matter of taste. The new stuff just doesn't make me feel anything, except maybe a little annoyed at the beat LOL.
That beat sucked so much that I believe it hated itself and, consequently, tried to tear itself apart. My only explanation. I couldn't even listen to him with it distracting me.
Yeah exactly. All I could think about was how off-beat it was. And that freaking random skipping. I don't even remember what he was singing. Or more like I wasn't paying attention like you said.
Lol. Speaking of Timbaland. I thought I was just joking... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HIB0rRCtv8A
Wow. I like that, too. I may have to pick up this CD of his... is there more than one of this "new" Chris Cornell stuff?
No no no no nooo. That just isn't Chris Cornell. I think maybe Satan possessed him. ._. It doesn't compare at all to the passion of his old music. -sadface- Oh well. Still have the old stuff.
Well, Satan was always supposed to be the motivating force behind Rock'n'Roll, right? It figures he'd have pretty good beats.
In that case, it must be Jesus. LOL. This is more like it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLlaCpFRHzo
Okay. Found another 'new' song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wU2Mj4sW6dk VS. Way better old song. XD http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7IpBcnaiZg
