That would really depend on whether it is male or female, whether it was for a story or real life, and what the peacock's personality is. Cute peacock: Creampuff Mean Peacock: Banshee Talking Peacock: Allison or Al Funny Peacock: Goose Peaceful Peacock: Dove Apple loving Peacock: SnowWhite I could go on and on.
He is male - I am just loving Creampuff lol so suits him. Hmm so camp really suits the character that becomes him ...
Peacock is male. A female is a peahen. Creampuff sounds like a fun name to me! If he's none-to-bright, maybe "Dopey"? We used to have a Mille Fleur colored rooster that we named "Flower" - no complex was caused far as I can tell. -Frank
lol Flower is good too - he is incredibly bright as he is part human. However flamboyant, fun, vein are all him Creampuff vs Flower.
Oscar. I find names are more humorous if they don't imply something immediately funny. That way the actions of said character can make the name funny.
Yes the human character that turns into the Peacock is Nathaniel Smith for most of the story he is thought to be dead so I don't have the option of showing his personality the same in this one - he spent most of his life as a spy. He has an ability of appearing to other people to be something else and projecting a personality that is in conflict to his own. He wears a series of brightly coloured eyepatchs in public - in private he wears gold spectacles, sweaters and things. He has brown eyes (I forgot to add so does the peacock), a chiselled face with a long beak like nose. He is part sparrow, part immortal man - he wakes up every morning at 4.45am and bounces round the bedroom singing loudly out of tune. His version of the dawn chorus. He is on the surface strong, flamboyant, loud. In private he is quite serious has fun with his partner, but can be tender, likes having a secure nest to come home to. He has the same partner for over a hundred years. Blanche, Creampuff, Flower, Sweet-pea and Fluffy are sounding good. I don't think anything too serious next to Cobley the swan works.
Oscar and Osmand are AWESOME names for animals. I love giving animals, especially silly ones, very serious and posh names - it makes things all the more absurd. This kind of thing always, always makes me laugh hysterically: "Stop snuffling that poor old ladies crotch, Edmund!" Oh yeah, I have lots of animals too, but their names are all funny or cute, Tiddles (a cat who loves doing her business in awkward places), Teddy(bear) (a Labrador), Cookie (a German Shephard)... Out of the one's you've picked up on, Creampuff gets my vote.
Edmund Edward Cornelius Ormund Jefferson Zacariah Obediah Albus Thormund Ebenezzar (Geezer for short?) Abraham Those are some ultra-serious yet comical names for a white peacock. I'll edit and add more if I can think of any.
I think I am going with Adonis - Creampuff I have loved since day one. However the Swan the Peacock is partnered with is Cobley. And Cobley and Creampuff is two C names. Still love it though.
No - Harvey is for rabbits. And preferably those whose color is "invisible"! Though, maybe that would fit the character after all. Well, also for wonder hamsters. -Frank
LOL actually it would suit him - he is a real blank canvas fade into the background character - whilst somehow managing to be flamboyant He manages to walk through a neighbourhood with a huge white falcon on his shoulder, more expensive suit than most can afford, bright pink eye patch and pink sling on his arm. No-one sees him
Ok back to the drawing board with this one - there is a picture of the character on my profile. His partner is Cobbley the Swan. Description of Nate who turns into the white peacock. Artemis, Adonis, Flower and Birdie are on my list? I know I have already had tons of suggestions but I now know the peacock is going to be a big deal in my next book.
OK Thank you for suggestions he now finally has a name Tarquil Cobbley and Tarquil are a great pair and will be saving the entire universe.
