Bruce Wayne, Both have a lot of hidden internal struggles that they use as motivation to move forward and fight the bad guys. Your MC and their best friend are in a plane that has lost all power, they're 10,000 feet up and have one parachute. what do they do?
My MC is Zarek and his friend is Cerrus. "Zarek the plane is going down! What do we do!?" Cerrus yelled. "Alright, check the plane for any parachutes." Zarek replied. Cerrus ran down the isle of the plane to the cockpit and checked. "There's only one!" Cerrus yelled down the isle. "So, that doesn't matter we can just jump off remember. I just said to look for a parachute be cause that Mezza guy said there had to be one." Zarek informed. "Hey dude, you just broke the fourth wall, not cool." Cerrus commented. "Just come on, let's go." Zarek said as he jumped off the plane. Cerrus sighed and jumped off the plane. What would your MC do if they crapped their pants in front of their friends.
Amos: For me to loose control over my bowels like that, I'd have to be in a truely terrifying situation. Like if I had to run at break-neck speed away from a psychotic killer. Of course, my friend would be in front of me, gripping my wrist as we ran for dear life. Omar: (studies you carefully) You think I'm an infant? Heridon: (Is swaying as he walks) Ish ahm not *hic* dwunk...Aaaahh....TAKE ME ANNABELLE!!!! What kind of baby was your MC?
Socrates: His mother's neglect and abuse made him a very quiet baby, no point in crying if you are locked in a cupboard and no one is coming to get you. His twin sister screamed enough for both of them. Angus Sunny, but feisty temperament, mostly happy well loved baby. Luckily for him his mother died when he was two weeks old. Nate: Pain in the neck, screamed all the time, never slept, gave his parents the most rewarding smiles but exhausted them How would you MC handle a child who was afraid of bed bugs ?
Lydia would stay by the bedside with a shoe and promise her siblings to kill the bed bugs if they appeared. "Gordon, Marin, the bed bugs will not bite you. I will squish them first." What does your MC do when he/she is bored at night and can't go to sleep?
L: Wander the slums looking to pick a fight or for something worth stealing. Or anything exciting really. F: Probably read, work out or work on the operations of the Collective. Your MC has some extra cash, do they save/invest it, or go on vacation?
Vacation. How would your MC react if his/her house suddenly grew random new rooms that were not there before?
My MC would freak, but eventually explore the rooms to make sure no strangers were in them. Kinda how you can't help but make sure there are no spiders in your bed. You are afraid one might be in it, but you just have to make sure. Your MC wakes up in the night to the sound of faint shouting. What does he/she do?
L: It's probably another slummer getting beat to a pulp, a nearly nightly occurence. Depending on his mood, he'd either ignore it or rush out to join the fray. There's nothing like a drunken, midnight brawl. F: The Collective must be being invaded. He'd put on his body armor, grab his luger, grenades & M4 & rush out of the Admin Center toward the sound, absorbing any armed HSV guards into his entourage on the way. Relative repeat: Assuming both were edible, would your MC rather eat meat-flavored poop, or poop-flavored meat? Mmmmmmmm.
I think all of my characters are vomiting now...Oh, Omar just stopped. Hey, wanna help me with the others that are still vomiting? Omar: Of course. Would your character have their teeth drilled if it meant not doing the thing he/she hates the most?
Hey man, puking's not an opinion! "Hates" is bit ambiguous contextually, so I'll go ahead & assume you meant hates/fears Absolutely. Most of their worst fears & greatest hates throughout the story are a bit worse than having their teeth drilled in one way or another, so yeah. Probably. & besides, anything resembling modern dentistry is extremely rare in the setting, & thus dentitionary problems are epidemic. L struggles with a festering wisdom tooth for a good part of the beginning. What climate would your MC choose to live in? Temperate, tundra, tropical? Some other T?
L: Alcoholic: A Vanguard martini - made from the best of the worst vodka! Non: Eggnog probably. Due to the rarity of the spices & the relative lifetime ago when he last drank it, it has come to represent some warped, idyllic memory of his childhood long past. Nostalgia, if nothing else. F: Alcoholic: Some of the select, local, craft beers of the ruralists. He used to love aged, pre-collapse cristal before he came to synonimize it with the undeserving bourgeosie aristocracy. Non: Pure arabica coffee, although he rarely drinks it without stinging guilt. What Olypmic sport would your MC excel in?
"Something to do with track and field," Jeremiah says. "I like running. I'm not the best or even close, but it's the only thing I think I could do. Not that entertaining, running. I wish I could do gymnastics. I don't have the muscles for it." How does your MC get the news of the world?
Taylor frequently plays news shows or radio stations in the background while she's doing something else, always keeping an ear open for anything of interest. When she does hear something worth following, she doesn't trust the news. She goes online, hits the books, and does whatever is necessary to get information from several reputable sources. If she's still interested by this point, it's likely because she firmly believes that the interesting bit of news is somehow linked with the supernatural. She'll track down the source of her information an launch an investigation in an attempt to unearth an alien or something. Because even if there's no solid evidence anywhere on Earth, who's to say that the alien couldn't have just erased people's memories and whatnot? As for news of the world itself, she couldn't care less. It's all too mundane for her. (I'm just going to start saying he instead of he/she; it saves on awkwardness.) What would your MC say or do if he knew there was someone sitting in front of a keyboard or notebook authoring his life, dictating his every move?
Socrates: Right now is feeling jealous, he is only in the supporting role of my rewrite AND I have created a better looking character than him. He is used to being number 1 hottest character. Angus: Feeling quite pleased at being back in limelight and not having to attack his brother as much as in the previous book. Nate: Is much more easy going than the other two he likes being a little bit in the background but is looking forward to his resurrection scene lol None of my characters like being shelved. Same Question: What would your MC say or do if he knew there was someone sitting in front of a keyboard or notebook authoring his life, dictating his every move?
Jason sees his brother, Richard, in the dark. Only a peice of paper he can see, and Richard sitting on a chair. The floor cannot be seen. Just the two of them. "What are you doing?" Jason asked. "Where's the floor? Where is everything?" "I just need to talk to you," Richard replied, trying to avoid his question. "But we haven't seen each other in years," Jason replied. "What's it to talk abuot?" Richard contines to write on whatever he was writing about. "I have something special for you. You have to figure it out for yourself though. I created you as God done the same." "What?" Jason asked, confused. "Are you sick or something?" Carla throws a bottle of bear against Jason, which woke me up. Ah man, I don't know what to write next. "Sorry Wayne," Carla said, "for throwing that at you." If only she was drunk somewhere else, I would have this chapter done already. How would your main character reacted if he met one of Harry Potter's characters?
Having never read the series, he'd probably judge them for hapless, aristocratic brats & either mercifully ignore them or blindside them, depending on how hungry he is. Better he do it than someone less restrained, which is inevitable in the slums. Someone in such fine, untattered clothes must be carrying something valuable/saleable... How would your MC fare in a wilderness-survival situation in, say, a forest?
Socrates: No bother have lived with a spy for a hundred years and gone on missions with him. I am handy with a bow and arrow and can skin a rabbit. Know how to build a shelter and find food in the hedgerows. Angus: Help, I can kinda manage but prefer my bed and servants. Its ok if I have Soc or Nate with me. Nate: It's like being at home. I am half sparrow and living outside gives me the space and freedom I crave. How would your MC react if he had people bowing and calling him Your Majesty all day? Would he appreciate being waited on ?
Neel and Vik: both won't mind specially if the people bowing are men in tights Neel won't mind being waited on, he is a charming guy and usually make people do whatever he wants. Vik, on the other hand, is someone who doesn't need a 'thank you' for his help, and doesn't like to be the center of attraction in a crowd. How will your MC react if he/she finds out someone of the same sex has a crush on him/her?
Socrates and Nate: Give him a mark out of ten and discuss the merits of a threesome. Angus: That is lovely, have you met my wife ? My answer was a bit naff lol so same question: How will your MC react if he/she finds out someone of the same sex has a crush on him/her?
Alexis, Melissa, and Madison would all react the same way: they would be creeped out and want to have as little contact with that person as possible. Not because they're homophobic, but because homosexuality is unknown on thier world, and would be considered a form of mental illness because of this. Your MC(s) learn the person they had always thought of as just a surrogate sibling is actually madly in love with them, and has been for a long time. How would they react?
Rhagon: um...well hey Gil, now let's think about this. *he raises his hands* I think I know how to settle this. *Smash!!! Kapowey!!* Rhagon punches Gil in the face flooring him. "I think that settles things right?" He asks the unconscious Gildan and leaves the room. Your MC walks into McDonalds and order a Big mac and fries only to find out they are out of fries and Big Macs. What do they do?
Get something else. Your MC is seeing his/her best friend standing over the edge of a cliff, ready to jump off. What does he/she do??
Hm . . . my MC would just tie her to a hang glider and leave. What would your main character do if s/he met a mugger in a deserted alley? (Overused question, I know.)
