Hi, My MC is a thief, highly intelligent and cunning. He'd avoid the choice at all costs and find a way around it. As for his worst enemy, very likely he'd frame him and get him sent to jail. Back when Samantha had access to a television, she would have hated that level of stupidity. A minute-long advertisement for a kitchen gadget was fine, but if she had insomnia she would have rather put in POTC even though she's seen it six times already. It wouldn't be the 1st time. He'd go through with it, he has no choice either way - refusal would be suicide as much as conceding would. Would your MC rather write or read?
