Haha... I'd have said similar for mine. Shard or shark? Either way... She would probably sit and watch for a while, curious to see how her lover would react and deal with the situation. If it looked like they would not survive she would offer the minimal amount of help she could to ensure her lover makes it out alive, if not unharmed. EDIT: Forgot a question! What would your MC do is they were deserted somewhere with no food to eat.. other than their companion who they had never met before?
