Lapis: interesting, so there is a god, or is it one who appears to have god like powers? Its not like we have not seen that before Portia: wait I am not god? Lapis: for the last time you are not god Portia: why not? It’s said all religions are man made, and that a god would be more powerful then any human. I fulfill both requirements. Is your MC a pepsi or coke person? ( I know silly)
The one cardinal rule of silly: Nothing is. Hmm... Leo's more of a Dr. Pepper kinda guy, really. Coke, it's fine. Same with Pepsi, but nothing beats the subliminal taste of cherry from a nice freshly-poured glass of Dr. Pepper. Your MC is in an elaborate deathtrap, something that is built specifically to kill them slowly and dramatically, something that comes almost directly from his/her nightmares. What might this be?
Hmmm... I'm not that good at creating deathtraps for my characters. Um...caught in a dark chamber in which he cannot see anything, and there are rattlesnakes crawling around? Suppose your MC had recently lost someone he/she cared deeply about, is all torn up inside. Then, someone says something very cruel, like called that person a w**** or something. A few hours later, the MC finds out that this person is in mortal peril trying to save his/her love interest, and the villain says something, the villain says that the MC can just walk away and no one would say anything about it, no one would even know anything other than that guy being stupid and trying to play hero. The person turns to the MC and screams at them for help. What does your MC do?
Moon glares at the person and smirks. "What am I to do for you?" she says, crossing her arms. The person continues to plead for her help but she backs away. She's never been the type to help anyone... not even herself. Moon turns her back toward the person and then says over her shoulder, "find someone who cares." Your MC has suddenly been put on the spot. A group of terrorists have taken over a bank and have locked all doors and windows. They have everyone down on the ground and your MC has been brought to the terrorists' attention. They tell you to get off the ground and they hand you a gun. They tell you that you can do one of the two things, 1) use the gun to shoot one of them, but may easily be killed in the process, or 2) shoot one of the innocent hostages and remain alive. What does your MC do?
Helen: <smirks> Good thing I saved this from that trip a few weeks back. <Attatches chip to wrist> Helen: It's a gift from the Vorxonas. Allow me to demonstrate. <She raises her fist and presses the button. Suddenly, a shock wave emmits from her hand, throwing the bad guys backward into the wall, knocking them out.> Helen: It's also disabled your guns as well. <Takes ropes and ties their hands and feet together> Now who's the tough guys? <to others> It's okay. All clear now. <Aims wrist to door and uses the sonic wave to blow it wide open> Move! Move! Your MC meets someone who claims he/she is from the future. This person says the MC will die of a disease a year from then, and three years later, the Earth would be invaded by horrible aliens and no one would survive. What does your MC do?
Not bad, not bad. Leo: Well, if time travel is even possible to survive without going insane, then maybe I'd buy it. Just as soon as I'd believe that politics are fair, clean, and constructive, of course. But, even so, there's no such thing as being too careful. (Writes in notebook) "Should I be found dead of a fatal disease on (insert date here), then let it be known that three years from now the end of life as we know it shall be brought upon us by extraterrestrials. This warning comes from one who claims to be from the future, and if he has foretold my untimely death, then he can easily foretell the death of the planet. You have been warned." (Shuts notebook) There. Zombie Apocalypse. Where does your MC go, and what supplies do they bring with them?
Zombie Apocalypse. Where does your MC go, and what supplies do they bring with them? Heridon Copper: <screams> THIS AGAIN!? That's it! That ****ING DOES IT!! I'm going to ask you another question! In the form of MY AXE!! <pulls axe out from somewhere> Random Guy: Wait, you're Texan. Shouldn't you have a gun or- <Heridon swings it at him> Random Guy: %@^!!! <runs off> Heridon Copper: Zombie Apocalypse THIS!! <swings again> Sandra Morrison: Oh, God! Someone stop him!! Kyle Greene: Heridon, stop! You're scaring me! Please, don't hurt him! Kamiko Yamamoto: I never thought I'd see the day where he'd snap... Holly Morrison: <cups her mouth> God have mercy on us... Matt McDonnan: Sweet Jesus! <Matt, Jeremy, and a few other guys run to seize Heridon before something bad happens> Me: <facepalms> Ooooookay. Your MC has officially snapped, like dear Heridon here, and is now attempting to kill the first person he/she sees. Why did he/she snap? How is he/she trying to kill the other person? Who is this other person? How does his/her friends react? How does the person he/she's trying to kill react? Discuss in detail!
Becca opens the refrigerator, reaching for the orange juice. It would sure be refreshing right about now, after a long day of work. With high expectation, she unscrews the cap and tips the carton awaiting the succulent stream of not-from-concentrate orange. *Plop* Dumbfounded, she looks at the chunky, unappetizing mess of pulp in her glass. Her eyes begin to twitch as she crumples the OJ carton between shaking hands and she stomps towards Michelle's room. Thrusting the door open, still holding the ruined and drippy carton in one hand she advances on her room mate. The blonde looks up in terror, mouth agape. "Eat it." The hand shoves part of the carton uncerimoniously into Michelle's wide, shocked mouth. "How many times do I have to tell you to shake the f****** juice when you use it!" She may go to jail for this, but at least they get those single-serving cartons there. This will be the last time that she gets the last glass of orange juice that is nothing but pulp... Lame, I know. Anyhow, how MC's neighbor has asked your MC to pet-sit for them while they are away. The neighbor's pet happens to be the one animal that the MC despises above all. What does your MC say?
Oh God, you have a cat? No, not in a million years would I--wait! You'll pay me? Well...OK, I do need to eat. Next question: Your MC has just had the most difficult day of his/her life. Starting from the beginning, what happened?
Richard Lemms: After mistakenly receiving a medallion of cosmic importance, his mythical cultist neighbour is assassinated in his stead by a team of government agents, his university attacked by a magical being summoned by a secretive order of mages and he escapes with the assistance of the four most unpopular people in his class not including himself. He is then metaphorically and unknowingly handed the keys, car and freeway to the apocalypse, hunted by every national power on the planet, an esoteric order of masters that make the Illuminati look like a sunday school and The Most Dangerous Woman On Earth (OTHER than his older sister, who is also pissed at him for different reasons). He then spends the remaining hours until midnight evading transdimensional demons, bargaining with the Firestorm Brotherhood, appeasing the Goddess of Wanton Destruction, gatecrashing the Olympics on live international television, thoroughly disappointing his parents, alienating the girl of his dreams and made it back home in time to forget his homework. That's the SECOND worst day of his life. I haven't written the WORST one yet. Your MC has been mugged! The police say they have the suspect in custody, but it's not the guy who mugged your MC. The police say they know, but they need your MC to falsely testify against this known crime kingpin so they can get a warrant to search his dens and bust him for real. The downside is that you'll be putting the bad guy away for an additional crime he happened not to commit and the actual mugger won't ever be charged.
I didn't quite follow that, but... Amselda goes and finds the right criminal and has him convicted. Your MC's mortal enemy has just died. Or has he?
Your MC's mortal enemy has just died. Or has he? Mortal enemy? Amos Garnier: Uh...how would you want us to react if he died? Heridon Copper: It depends. If the bastard deserved it, I won't lose any sleep over it. If I didn't like the guy, but also didn't want him to die, I'll feel slightly bad. HelenChert: Seeing as my mortal enemy is pretty much a demonic entity, then I say we should be relieved. Mike Wolfletter: But...he was my friend. My comrade...I'm gonna go give him a decent burial. Your MC wants to interview someone. Who is this person and why does the MC want to interview him/her?
Your MC wants to interview someone. Who is this person and why does the MC want to interview him/her? In his morbid fantasies, he screams directly at Hitler for banning him from painting and confiscating his work. I guess in real life, he would like to meet Hitler so he could shoot him. I don't know if that really counts as an interview, but Johannes isn't really the interviewer type. He's too self-absorbed to really care about anyone else. Next question: How would your MC talk to someone they were sexually attracted to? Where would they be most likely to meet such a person?
How would your MC talk to someone they were sexually attracted to? Where would they be most likely to meet such a person? Owen: He would never be attracted to someone with pure sexual desires. He likes to play the hero and believes in true love and as a result his true feelings will always play for the others' favor. He's cheesy though and might have one night stands if he gets too preachy. But he's the kind that can take a girl dancing and then open up about what he feels. Kevin (or whatever his name will be): He has no interest whatsoever in sex or the other gender. The only girl he feels emotions towards is not interested in him because he's simply emotionless and doesn't care about others, all he wants is to avenge himself and inflect his misery on the world. He's too busy finding himself to be attracted to anyone. Next question: If your MC was to be faced with a deadly, confusing situation in which they have to choose between saving themselves or a comrade, which would they choose? (I know, a cliche question xD)
Next question: If your MC was to be faced with a deadly, confusing situation in which they have to choose between saving themselves or a comrade, which would they choose? (I know, a cliche question xD) Gabriel would consider for only the briefest of moments before pushing his comrade aside and moving to safety. He may not stay dead for long, but his sister whose life is dependant upon his continued survival would. Your MC and the antagonist make ammends for whatever wrongs occured in the past. How and why would this happen?
Your MC and the antagonist make ammends for whatever wrongs occured in the past. How and why would this happen? The Magnan stared at the Warleader of the Serpentine, there was hate in his eyes but it quickly subsided, “You been turned on the by God of Machines.” “I should have known,” grunted the Warleader. “He is but a machine, and you tried to use him. You failed.” “Yes, is this why you are here to gloat?” The Magnan shook his head, “I am betrayed also.” Bregen asked, “By who, and why?” “I am betrayed by my destiny, the Edge Legion are shadow of what they once were. Tainted by purity, I can’t serve them. And my god, the Black Dragon Lord abandons me. My brothers and sisters renounce me. I wish to propose an alliance of Burnt and Serpentine.” “So that we can strike back, is that what you want?” The Magnan nodded. Bregen gave him a cold smile, “Then let us go to war.” Edit forgot the question: If your MC had to make a life or death sacrifice what would it be and why?
If your MC had to make a life or death sacrifice what would it be and why? me: What would you sacrifice yourself for? Goodwin: *he thinks for a moment* ...dunno. me: What about Ed? Goodwin: ... *shifts uncomfortably* That's not fair. me: Why not? Goodwin: How would that ever happen? me: Easy. Somebody's got a sledgehammer and a pistol, and he's offering to trade you for Ed. Goodwin: Well yeah of course I'd go, but you don't get it. I'm not gonna just stand there and wait for him to kill me. But Ed would. me: Are you sure he would? Goodwin: Yeah, if they told him to. That's how automatons work. me: Why Ed? Couldn't you just build another one? Goodwin: No... I guess... I dunno. You could build another one, but I don't think it'd be him. Go talk to him and you'll see what I mean. me: So you'd sacrifice yourself for an automaton? Goodwin: No, I'd put myself in danger for him. Then I'd break the system and come out swinging. There's never only two options. me: What if it turned out you couldn't break the system? Goodwin: Eh. I'm gonna die young anyway. Is your character the kid of person to have children? How would it go?
Would my character have kids? Amos eventually has two sons and a daughter. His youngest son eventually dies in the War of 1812, his eldest son grows up to be a doctor, and his daughter marries a farmer. Helen eventually has a daughter who journeys with her in space. Heridon doesn't wish to have a child, and never wants to have one. He believes he is too impatient to raise one from infancy. Your finds an old, abandoned house on the side of of a road. It's breaking apart, the windows and doors are boarded, and the railings are just pipes welded together and bolted to the porch. The steps and sidewalk leading up to them are cracked in many places, and the yard is choked with weed. Your MC spots a basement hatch by the house with a single chain wrapped around the handles. Does your MC choose to explore the house? If so, what does he/se find in the house?
Leon is a wanderer for most of his life. If he came across a building so remarkably intact (compared to most structures of the era) he'd be extremely tempted to loot it. However, he probably wouldn't find much (it'd likely have been looted long ago), and so would probably try to cannablize the house itself as much as possible: shave wood for tinder, pry out nails, etc. If there was someone or something inside, he'd carefully, quietly retreat, unless he was attacked or otherwise forced to fight, in which he'd likely kill them. Your MC is off for a day. For whatever reason, the plot doesn't require them. They're free for 24 hours. What do they do?
Your MC is off for a day. For whatever reason, the plot doesn't require them. They're free for 24 hours. What do they do? Almost every character ever, because why not. Goodwin: definitely swimming Laurelai: usually calculus, but if she *ever* took a break, I can see her taking a completed works of Shakespeare or Oscar Wilde, maybe 1984 or some Charles Dickens into the woods with an apple or something. Victoria: A really really long walk to nowhere in particular. She'd probably get lost. Zeke: if it was in the 40's, he would definitely *definitely* take Victoria swing dancing. If not, attend some random university lecture. Brass: Fix everything properly that had to be haphazardly patched together short notice. If she *ever* finished and had time to spare, probably try to figure out Ed The Automaton's inner mechanisms. Ed: Read poetry (he likes Keats), or play violin. Charlie: Pull out the acordian and jam. Probably with Ed. What's a good(or bad, whichever you've written about least) memory from your MC's childhood? If you haven't at all then, lucky you! Pick one.
What's a good(or bad, whichever you've written about least) memory from your MC's childhood? If you haven't at all then, lucky you! Pick one. Heridon Copper: <After some time thinking it over, while sipping Guinness> It was a good-bad memory. By that, I mean it was good, but then it turned into bad. Anyway, a neighborhood friend and I had just finished watching Pearl Harbor. Now, we had a tree in our yard with an elongated branch, so we climbed up there and pretended we were on a battleship fighting some other guy's battleship when my friend slipped, fell, and broke his arm. Don't you just love how simple childhood fun can turn into a nightmare and a quick run to the hospital? Yeah! Helen: <folds her hands under her chin and forms a steeple with her index fingers, pressing them to her lips> Let me see...hmm...A fond memory I had was my sister and I playing with each other's hair when we were really little. It was a warm summer day, we were bored, so we sat in my bed with hair products and makeup we nicked from mum's makeup supply and...went with it! When she came in to find our hair discolored and all out of shape...she was not too pleased, but we had fun. Your MC has been forced to write a long thesis on something he/she doesn't particularly care about, and it has to be due in three days. What is this thesis? Who assigned it to him/her? Why does he/she not like it? What does he/she do about it? Is it nearly done or not? Discuss in detail!
Owen (Would probably be doing it to one of the holy temples in his world, most likely the thunder temple. A Monk will probably assign it to him, it might be about the particles that form the life-lake (A lake where the elements of life live)): He'll probably do it perfectly even if he doesn't really have any interest in the subject. He'll research and research until it's perfected, he's a sucker for perfection in a way. He'll have to look good and sound good and do it good. Kael (will have it assigned by Issac, the bad guy in the story for whom he's working. It might be about the origins of superpower): Kael: I should write this? Issac: yes! Kael: In three days? Issac: yes! Kael: With details and accurate data? Issac: yes! Kael: Then I'll get a degree in super-Humphrey-dumpty powers? Issac: YES! Kael: No way! screw you and your degree. I'm going to blow up my uncle's garage! Your MC is trapped, there is a sea in before them and a big ugly ogre behind them, on the left they can see a boat but the ores are missing and on the right side they see a car with a flat tire. At their feet there is a dagger but it's rusted. What would they do? try to kill the ogre? or go with on of the items on either side?
Your MC is trapped, there is a sea in before them and a big ugly ogre behind them, on the left they can see a boat but the ores are missing and on the right side they see a car with a flat tire. At their feet there is a dagger but it's rusted. What would they do? try to kill the ogre? or go with on of the items on either side? Heridon: <takes off shoes and shirt and dives in with driftwood> I'll take my chances! I'll take my damned chances with the sea! Amos: Fire away, gents? British Soldiers: FIRE!! <shoots at ogre> Amos: Excellent! 8] Now let's get out of here! Helen: <activates jet pack that's built into her battle suit> See ya! <flies away> Your MC meets an eccentric, hunched, warty old man known as Mister Arthur Magpie who collects various trinkets and trash in an old abandoned cottage. He/she notices an old scroll on a shelf and he says it's a scroll that fortells the future! Next to it is a potion he claims helps earn eternal youth that's in a light blue flask. Next to that is a magical amulet that will transform your MC into a powerful creature. He says he/she can have only one item. What will your MC do? Which item will he/she pick? What if he/she decided to take another option (as in, an option having nothing to do with the items); what does he/she do? Discuss in detail!
[Goodwin squints] "Right..." [slowly backing away] "uh... " [smiling nervously] "I'll just uh... leave you... with..." [snaps his fingers at him] "...With those... KAYIGOTTAGOBYE" [sprints away] Although, answering the question properly, as if he actually did believe the guy , he'd probably reach for the future scroll at first, then realize he actually doesn't want to know how he's going to die. Then he'd go for the eternal youth. More like eternal sexy. XP MC, what does everyone else think of you? Are they right?
Leon, "I'm cold, quiet, unemotional. I don't think most people really know... what to think of me. I guess I'd prefer to keep it that way. They're not right, but not exactly wrong either." Armada, "Those close to me know me pretty well, I guess. I don't know... dedicated, disciplined, protective... a damn cornucopia of sacrifice. Ha, hmmm... but those that know me better know... I'm tired, agonizingly frustrated... maybe even bitter... they're not wrong, but I'm okay when I can manage. On the other hand, there aren't a whole lot of people who know me that well. Not anymore. Makes the whole question that much easier to answer." Reason, "Oh, probably something of an airhead. Maybe crazy. I know it seems like I talk to myself, but they get it, I think. I'm good at what I do though, they all know that much. Whether it comes to refining weapons systems or AI parameters, or to brewing a damn good draft, I think my prowess's speak fer themselves!" Gareth, "That would depend, by necessity, on the context in which one "knows" me. At home, I'm a loving father. A... husband, at one time, quite long ago. I don't always have time for my kids, but I make the most of it. I'd like to think. Likewise, I don't have a whole lot of time for friends, but enjoy them when I do. A nice cocktail, good music and witty company. Cerebral, overanalytical, perfectionistic. An alternatingly dry and disturbed sense of humor. It's only through the crucible of social dialect that we come to know ourselves. Doesn't mean we come to know what others think of us any easier. I think you think I think you think I think... hehe." Lithius, "I am a monster. Paragon of predation and perversion. A walking, waking nightmare. They aren't wrong." MC's nation/people are winding up to a major conflict. How do they contribute, if at all? Donate what they can spare? Volunteer? Join the army? Sip their morning tea in disinterest?
