I know that a lot of people on here write a lot of different things, and for different age groups. I was just wondering who writes what. Let's share with each other and maybe find other people that write the same things as we do. I write for all age groups, from children to adult. I write nonfiction, fiction, and poetry. I tend to have an interest in Scifi and Fantasy, but don't limit myself to just those genres.
You missed a category...LOL ___ I write for myself. Seriously, you created a very interesting data pool. It will be fun to see how it plays out. Thank you, becca
what i do is not included and since there's no box for 'other' i'll have to add one here... since i gave up writing [or doing anything] for money more than 15 years ago, what i've been writing is philosophical essays and what i call 'philosetry'... all of which is for 'everyday use'... not the fancified sort of philosophy one studies in courses on the subject, but just un-blinkered 'plainspeak' observations and depictions of the human species, its behavior, the effect on the world it's created, and the consequences thereof... it's all available on my website, free of copyright constraints, as well as in book and e-book form that i send to all who want them... i've also rewritten a non-fiction memoir for someone who needed it and edited a huge ms on a particular aspect of wwii history, tinian's role in the a-bombing of japan... before that, i wrote just about anything that takes words... both on my own, for publication, and for the well-paying [$150/hr, back in the 80s!] clients of my writing consultant business...
I ticked the three elements I consider to be the main focus of my writing - for adults/fantasy/experimental, though there are a few other options up there I could have included depending on which piece I refer too... Generally, on a good day, I describe my stuff thusly: darkly romantic fairytales with a core theme of female sexuality (which lends itself well to religion, horror and humour - often all at once ). Very occasionally, I accidently write a poem.
Modernism, horror, essays and poetry about everyday life. That's all for me. Right now I'm writing an essay on writing poetry.
Don't get me started, boy...I've been in Texas...way back in my wild young years. Never know, we might be related...ask your grandmomma if she ever worked in the pubs along the Riverwalk...ohhhh, the memories!
