I'm making a beef stew right now. What are you having?

    Ok - what's a chippy?

The only definition I know is a bar prostitute, and I doubt that was what you meant.

A shop that specializes in chips (by which I assume you mean deep fried thick potato pieces)?

I don't think we have any counterpart to that on this side of the Pond.

    What's a donor?

In the States a donor is someone that gives something to someone else.

Are fish chips the same as fish sticks?

I must say I am intrigued by differnt foods, and names of foods, from other countries.
