A friend is someone who NEVER goes behind someone's back when they have a problem with you. They come to you and talk about it. An acquaintance goes behind your back!

And they can also get away with it. Truth though. I don't have many friends outside here. Truth is that I'm quite happy about that. No running around after everyone and trying to please everyone!
Doz. I have not one friend in this town. It is lonely but sort of peaceful. I don't even have many acquaintances so that is why I love this site and the people here. You are all friends to me in my isolation. You remind me that people in this world can be friendly to a stranger and draw them into the family. Dom was so right to nag me to come here. He did it so I would write more but I really think the friendship is doing me more good than the writing. Thank you all for being friends with each other and me. It means a lot to this lonely friendly lady.
lessa I've but only one friend where I live. She isn't a member here though she wants to join. She moves soon though. Will be good though as I will be able to go visit her often and get out of town at the same time. I like having just a few very select people to befriend away from the net. That way you know who you can and can't trust. My acquaintances I have now parted ways with completely. But it is always nive to have one person you can trust and rely on at some point in life. And lessa how could we not be nice and luving to you and invite you into our family? You are such a lovely person and have a heart of gold. You bring so much warmth into the forum and honestly it'd not be the same without you around now.
Friends also don't lie and make up stories about stuff. They don't need to because friends like you the way you are- boring or not!
