when does poetry draw the line with a story?

    I think the beauty of poetry is the certain amount of freedom when it comes to creativity be it long or short. I personally love story type poems and I write almost all of my poetry in the form of a short story with events taking place and I use long lines. I think it just comes down to personal preference and neither one or the other is incorrect. But I do understand your point.

    To my opinion poetry must have some rhythm unlike prose /story writing.
    Poetry must also make use of stylistic devices like repetition, rhymes, metaphors, similes, rhetoric questions etc unlike a story that may necessarily not adhere to the devices!
