Im still mapping out my fantasy world, and im still writing histories for everything too. And for my other project Blue Phoenix im working on the plot and charcter development and im still outlining it.
^Ooh, I like your titles I'm still outlining my sci-fi and working on my characters. I'm also trying to come up with a really good title
CONGRATS!! *Sets off party-poppers* Wow, what an acheivement! That's a lot of words, dude. Hope it gets you far.
I'm trying to commit myself to doing Camp NaNoWriMo this month. Starts today and I haven't done any research, well nothing substantial and no idea where my novel is going. All I have is this one scene which I imagine would happen towards the end, unless I start with it and the rest is a flashback...hmm. So right now, I am at the beginning with a title 'Crime/drugs teen novel' and some ideas for it jotted down. I really want to write at least 1000 words today though.
I just printed the second draft of my novel. The first step in revising was a lot of fun. I got to flesh out the characters and really work with bits of the plot. It went from an 85K word first draft to a 118K word second draft. I suppose the pruning comes on the next draft. I'm there too. I have a working title, but I'm not in love with it. I figure the real thing will come to me sometime. That is a lot of words Congrats on finishing
You have written a lot. Congrats and +rep. Let me know when I can get it in bookstores. I recently printed the first half of my manuscript (114 pages; 40,000 words) and I'm reading over it before I map out how the mystery-cracking and showdowns of the second half will play out.
Well done all on your progress. I had some feedback about my work, and some more bits & pieces to do. I will try and work on it this month.
Thanks! It takes a lot of paper, but being able to use the hard copy is so helpful. I like that you are printing the first copy and rereading before finishing the end... I probably would have caught a couple of my draft 1 inconsistencies that way.
That's why you need to get a kindle When I think it's time to stop being the writer and become the hypercritical reader I just load my manuscript onto the kindle and it suddenly becomes an ebook. Heck of a lot cheaper. Anyways, I'm currently in the preproduction stage of my second novel, that is halfway through the handwritten first draft which mostly focuses on dialogue and action, with very little description and internal reflection. My first novel is complete and the manuscript is currently being assessed by publishers. I wait with baited breath...
I am at the stage where I have developed my main characters and the secondaries and I know exactly where I want them to go. I have the major plot twists and turns down and I am into Chapter Four, problem is everytime I re read it I am adding more to it and tweeking it so i get stuck in the first four..time to move on and edit later..harder than it seems lol. So I'm not finished but I know exactly where I want to go with it. I just have to get them there in a plausable and interesting way Ella xx
I got a few odds & ends done today. I think I have five 'items' left on my to-do list. I'd like to get everything done over the next couple of weeks.
I haven't written much this past few days. I'm insanely busy doing awesome stuff away from home and things've been pretty nonstop. But it looks like I will have a chance to write today...I'll try and bump my word count up past 41,000...
Have just reached 55000 words in the first draft of a novel I started three and a half weeks ago. I've jumped ahead in the story line a bit so I'll have to go back. Just hoping to get some inspiration soon for some earlier sections which I've left out so far!
Holy crap - I'm at 40K and have been writing it for more like three MONTHS. What's your book abot? And congratulations. I'm going to +rep you, you deserve some points for that kind of speedwriting.
Currently I am at 1,000 words. I know that doesn't seem like much. But I recently changed my computer. Now adays I save everything in RTF. But some of the files were not saved in RTF. And therefore some of them got encrypted. And my main novel I was working on looked like some strange symbolic code: @#!$123$$##r I'm like Nooo. Now I have to rewrite almost everything. Thank lord I take down notes on what happened in each chapter. Little synopsis reminders.
^ Ouch. That sucks. What a drag. But the handwritten stuff will help, and maybe the rewritten version will turn out even better this time around. You'll be past where you were before in no time.
It's a teen action thriller. I've written lots recently because I've been on holiday and had a load of ideas. The problem with writing fast is it's not always as well thought out as if you take lots of time thinking through it and you make more mistakes. I'm going to have lots of editing to do!
That sounds good, teen action thriller that is. I hope so. Sometimes I feel like I have to write fast because I'm afraid that I'll never finish it.
