I finished polishing up a short story for a contest submission Thursday night, just in time to meet the deadline. I'm starting a complete rewrite on another old short story I never posted anywhere because I was never pleased with the writing.

Taking a bit of a break from my two novels.

Just written the theme of a short story 'Amnesia' . Yes, I intent to enter the next short story contest here, if I manage to complete it in time.

Just hit the 10K landmark tonight, 1 week after I started on my New Novel :)) feel proud of myself, and impressed of how easily the words flow. thanks to the outline, I'm sure. Last winter, when i started planning this novel, I sat down and wrote a thorough outline of all the chapters and scenes in the novel (by hand) and now I feel i can still pretty much stick to it, haven't changed idea about anything major yet. it feels like such a relief knowing exactly what is going to happen all the way, I didn't think it would. :))

I really haven't started writing much, since I have been busy. I think I have only 3k words so far, but I guess when I get my school work done I will continue my story. I hope someday I can finish the newer drafts of the story, The Robot Mom.

So you mean to tell me that you got 10,000 words written in one week? That is pretty impressive. I wish I could do that.

That's NaNoWriMo pace, or close to it. Unless writing is a full-time occupation, I'd worry about burnout if you try to maintain that pace long term. But it's a pretty good sprint.

Thanks! And yes :D my luck is I can write at night without worrying about getting up early because right now I don't work very much (only a few hours a week) which does influence creativity in a postive way :)) I do write best at night, this evening I started at 10 PM and got 2000 words written, and I make sure I write every night.

About 15.5k into my sci-fi story. Getting a little stuck with the plot, though it is finally picking up speed. I've decided to keep the plan in my head for this one, I tried writing everything down but it just didn't seem to work for me, I couldn't express exactly what I wanted. It involves Mars, for those interested. :)

seriously considering abbandoning the story I'm working on and starting another, more inspiring one. You know it's about time when even you get bored from what you are writing :D

Stuck in limbo. I'm still writing for "Bonfire" (tentative title), which has been an ongoing struggle for three years. I think I should move on to another story and come back to this one ten years later: It's just that difficult to write.

That sucks, Still Life. I hope you get unstuck soon!

I've got about 29 pages worth of notes, mostly on the setting and the plotline itself. Was gonna hold off on any actual writing until NaNo, but I'm getting more and more eager to get started. Maybe I'll just start, and not count anything I wrote until the first of November. That way I'm not cheating...I think?

Written 25k this week. I'm incredibly impressed with my productivity, but I'm really enjoying writing this novel so I'm finding writing it easier than I sometimes do, and a weeks holiday has meant I've actually been able to get on with it. Back to studies tomorrow, so this unusually high rate of production (for me) might well slow down dramatically. :(

I started writing two weeks ago, at the minute I've done 30K on an Urban Fantasy, mainly the start and end. I'm having trouble deciding how I want to balance the romance and supernatural aspects, so I started a new novel to give me a break from it and see if that helped me decide.

I'm only 5K into the new one which will be more of a YA Fantasy, although I've got a detailed 4 page overview of the entire plot and main events ready to expand on.

I'm finding it much easier to just write stuff than worry about plans, background and worldbuilding. I'm hoping if I can get these two completed I might finally be able to get started on the huge project I've spent 20 years developing and building.

Started my book for NaNo! First day and already 2,500 words (I made a really nice outline before I started) I hope I can keep it up. I think my story will probably be at least 70k, so hopefully I can not only reach the 50k goal, but also finish the story this month.

Just started NaNo. 500 words in. I'm hoping to get to 1500 words before bedtime tonight.

^Good for you! I didn't join this year, but probably next. I just didn't have an idea that was quite nano-worthy.

Still working on the same novel.... work's been crazy busy, sending me on travel and whatnot, so opportunities to write have gotten slimmer lately.

I'm right at the part where I feel on top of the world, and then I realize it's all just a false feeling and that I still have a long way to go. Ugh.

Haha, I'm working on my Nano novel right now, and I managed to write a few good scenes for the beginning. But now I'm like, "What do I do next?" It's a bit frustrating to keep checking my wordcount too, so maybe I need to stop being so number happy XD
