I just need to adujst some nuts and bolts for the plot on my story, and I'll be good to go to finish it. I am writing by the seat of my pants though.
A little more than halfway through the second (or 1b) draft, since it mostly consist of putting the randomly written scenes in the right order and writing the bridges between them. I don't know if that can be called a second draft but either way I'll soon be finished, and then I can decide if it will live forever in my drawer or what. I can't help but liking it and the characters and I love to write it but somehow I doubt that other people will enjoy it as much as I do. Plus right now I don't even know how to improve it further so it will have to 'sit' for a while anyway. Minstrel: How exciting! good luck.
I'm on pg 94 handwritten aka ~30K words. I have another 40K words that are in sections to be inserted and added into/onto that. The story is 1/3 the way done, (I think, LOL).
Well before I was rewriting my sci-fi story (trying out a new setting and stuff) i was around ten chapters in. I then realised it might be better if i did it during war period the country suffered. Currently, in my other story I'm 3,000 words in, and already sewers are being incorporated...
On Chapter Two now. Already had dead guy, and am now trying to figure out how to get Benjamin and Amos started on the case. The two are pratically shooting down all my ideas with, "We'll be caught, and be in huge trouble..." xD
3000 words in started last week. This would be the probably 12th attempt at this novel.... Decided to set smaller more attainable goals for myself. It seems to be working out.
I'm currently wrapping up on the second chapter and am at 4750 words. (prologue, first and second chapter) I've been having lots of thoughts about this story so I'm constantly writing down little notes and try to fit them in. Feels like this might actually go somewhere ...
Still trying to get through the beginning. I don't know how to write that yet, so I'm just making a basic outline/writing to move on.
Just put "The End" to the second story, which I started off in mid november and which i wrote in a little untraditional (at least for me) manner. I have spent a month or so stitching together all the various scenes and written the transitions from one to another. it clocked in at little more than 90K. I guess I really should take up the writing on that one I mentioned in my previous post, now that I can give it my complete attention.
Just starting, unfortunately, but with a decent idea of where it's going. I just can't wait to get to the arrival of the enigmatic big bad, but that's some way off yet
The two main ones I've been working on have slowed down... I'm at the point where I need to actually write the climax for one that's at about 60k now and yeah. The other one is hanging on me making a small decision and is at about 40k and would be working towards closing that off as well.
I just started a few days ago on a sequel story. I am 17 pages in, and my 2 main characters have to repair their broken friendship before they can trust each other fully again.
Since 2009 I've been working on my manuscript. For a good reason I've stopped the processes for this book, however I've been inspired to continue it per he request of my publisher. I've already completed about 50 pages, however I'm stuck on a few things for the time being. Such as sound effects. I'm not the best speller, however for my publisher to edit my book this will extend about six months before getting published. Does anyone have any feedback on a website that can provide some insights on this. thanks M
Since I don't plan a lot, I go with the flow, I don't know how long or how short my story will be, but I am working on the prologue... I only wrote one thousand words. And the only character I have in the moment is the main character... But it's just a matter of time until I come up with the others
I've started my fifth chapter (all of my chapters are pretty short. 5-7 pages in Open Office) but I'm 17K in and finally figured out what I'm writing about. I was struggling for a while with where I was going with this. It had started with my MC running from two people with the intention to kill her but I couldn't figure out why. Luckily my husband was intrigued enough by my writing that he helped me along with the main plot. I've basically got the whole story outlined. It's just the writing and expanding on subjects that gets me
monie... you don't really need sound effects in a novel, so i wouldn't worry about that... what i would worry about is a publisher who will take 6 months to 'edit' your book... is it a self-publishing/vanity press and are they charging you for that as a service, or is this a traditional paying press and that's just their normal time frame? what level of editing are you referring to?... just the normal search for typos and minor grammar goofs, or is a more serious edit/rewrite needed due to your writing not being up to publishable standards? love and hugs, maia
I am still developing the timeline for my story. I started writing pilots to as a sample. I need to revise my story
I just tried taking up an old story which I think has potential, just to fail miserably in getting back in the mood I had when i started it. The first 20 pages were good I guess, but the next 20 was rubbish and when I tried to delete that last part and rewrite I came up with something even crappier. It was so boring it almost made me cry, and still when i "see" it in my head it looks sso good. I'm worried there is not enough plot to cover a novel lenght story. What to do now? I want to write but I have no story!!!
