I was just wondering where our favourite English teacher has gotten to. Has he been locked in the class storage cupboard by an unruly band of recalcitrant children for making them read and recite Beowulf in its entirety or has he just taken a forum sabbatical?
All signs point to the latter. He was talking about finding work, writing some projects, etc., now that he's done the degree he was working on. We will we see him next on BBC, most likely.
The last FB status I saw of him he said he had an interview for an English teacher position in China and made it to the second round. So perhaps he was successful and is busy packing?
I think he may have also gotten a little tired of the forum given some of his last posts and arguments over him being an off-and-on troll trying to incite people.
I must've missed that, being as I'm not what you would call a prolific poster. Where did this go down? The debate room, I'd guess.
It went down in a couple of places. I can't remember all of them for sure. I just remember someone saying that sometimes he acted like a shit stirring troll and sometimes he came across as contributing member to the forum and you just never knew what you would get from day to day. Those aren't exact quotes, but a synopsis.
I just hope he's doing OK, whatever he's doing. May luck and fortune follow him always. Sad to see him go, though. Farewell, sweet prince. And may fleets of angels sing thee to the next awesome adventure. EDIT: Dangit, Lemex! You know how to pounce in when no one is looking. You're pretty cool like that.
Thanks for the kind words everyone. Update on me personally: I passed my MA degree, and am currently working on emigrating from the UK, and writing my first crack at a novel. I've enjoyed my time on this forum, I've met some wonderful people. Good luck to you all! Hope everything goes well for you. I just don't want to stay around anymore.
Good luck @Lemex , I know we didn't always see eye to eye, but even though I was always right, you'll be missed.
As with anything it can wear a bit thin through. . . overexposure, shall we say. Go and do what you've got to do but don't be a stranger. I've had a break or two myself but I always seem to stick my head back in. Good luck in your future endeavours and keep on keeping on.
Just to clarify this, I'll admit I hammed up my dislike of Harry Potter. I don't think it's not worth reading. I don't think it's very good - but that's no matter. If you like it, go nuts. And, that other stuff, well, other people are entitled to their opinions. I've not left just because of that. Anyway, see you guys.
Oh snap, I didn't know you had decided to leave the forum. I guess I'm going to lose my favorite pen pal. Good luck with your novel! I hope we can still keep in touch.
Sorry to see you leave, man. But all the best to you; you've been a valuable member on this forum and one of the first mods I interacted with when I was still a noob meself. Pop in again when you have the time and let us know how's life (and don't unfriend us mods on FB ).
