Hey Pats! Hope you guys are all doing great! And i also hope, unlike me, that you have managed to write SOMETHING!
Thing have changed for me, so a revision is in order. I have one romance book currently published on Kindle Unlimited, under my pen name of S.E. Saunders. It's trending decently in contemporary romance, inspirational romance, and clean and wholesome since its release on July 13, 2021. I've chalked up a few five-star reviews and am always seeking new readers and reviewers. Houston in September is part of a twelve-book catalog of standalone titles featuring Canadian characters in various locations and situations, all featuring the same brand of sass, dry wit and sweet happily ever after. After mashing the upload to Kindle button thingy to publish Houston in September to the Amazon masses, I began working on Jasper in January while trying to beat back further draft ideas for Las Vegas in July. My work has been compared to Sarah Adams. I need to shut up now and go write. I have a deadline of October 10th, 2021 for the next release. Happy tippity tapping, scribbling, whatever it is you do!
I am a woman, and I'm 26 years old. I primarily write fantasy and adventures as a hobby, but I can write a serious story too (although I might need some help and pointers on that).
Hey everybody, Possibly just a depressed tourist here passing through. I'm not much of a writer but admire the ability. Thought maybe it could help me as therapeutic exercise, as I feel there isn't much going on upstairs or downstairs (in my head or in my heart). Feels kind of bleak in both places but nothing a little imagination can't lighten up, right? How does one build a sandcastle in an arid desert if the sand doesn't stick together. That is kind of how I feel about writing. Where does inspiration come... or does one just need to practice, practice, practice until the muscle is built up.
New member here. Short stories are my main product, but I happened to be many chapters into a science fiction novel, revolving around psychic time travel, when on a whim I picked up the tattered manuscript of a novel, begun by my late grandmother but abandoned in 1934, at 425 pages. It's a story of rough times and dark secrets, set in western Kansas in the 1870s, incomplete but full of forebodings and adumbrations that have ever since gripped my mind like the ancient mariner's tale transfixed the wedding guest. Oh, to figure out just how it all must end!
Good morning from the other side of the world! I’m a man in his mid-30s who has spent the last decade living in Asia. A lot of things have changed on this continent during that time, and I hope to write about them as well as the ways I have also changed. I wrote a lot during university but haven’t picked up my pen in a long time. I started up again during my first lockdown. I’ve worked up to 20k words over the last year and want to reconnect with the writing community before this WiP gets any larger. I look forward to getting to know you all and your works!
Hello Though I'm fairly new to the writing field, I have been coming up with many fictional stories since I can remember. I'm 23 right now, and since English is not my first language (I'm from Poland, though I currently live in Sweden), I hoped to get some advice on improving my grammar and vocabulary. Currently, I'm writing a fantasy novel series about a girl who can communicate with the invisible nature spirits, a skill that is long forgotten by most in a world I came up with. I'm very critical of my own work, so after I finished writing the plot outline, I got very insecure about my writing skills, so I started writing other stuff, that I don't put so much pressure on. There are at least a dozen other, smaller stories I'm writing in my free time, so it's very probable that I will ask for advice on many different genres, perspectives, story structures, etc. Looking forward to getting to know everyone!
Thank you! The PRC for the most part, but I’ve visited Japan a few times, mostly Tokyo and Nagoya. Ironically, I was supposed to attend the Summer Games (not as an athlete), but then all of this happened.
I visited Beijing about a decade ago, right before the air quality hit rock bottom. Nice enough place but I think I prefer Japan. I trod very lightly and didn't log into anything on terminal the hotel provided. Amazing food, we had dinner at the Szechuan restaurant in the Szechuan provincial...office? Almost like an internal consulate, but they really wanted to showcase their cuisine and I'm forever ruined by that taste of paradise.
English may not be your first language, but you seem to have an excellent command of it. Look forward to seeing some of your work in the Workshop here, once you've fulfilled the requirements for posting there. I hope you enjoy the forum. I certainly do.
I think this is a difficult time for anybody to be creative. So many things pressing down on us just now, no matter where we live. However, I do hope you feel inspired to do some writing soon. Maybe being here will help!
Beijing is well-known for its blue sky now, very shocking contrast! Nothing compares to how pristine downtown Tokyo can be though. Even the water in the drainage ditches is crystal clear. I spend half of my time in Sichuan. It is by far the best food to be had. I don’t know if you could legally offer hot pot anywhere else in the world. Hunan and Dongbei are a couple of other styles I’ve seen become popular around the world.
I love this, My name is Brilliance, a straight female, I write about those that look like me, through all perspective through all freedoms, I like to write about men and women. mostly urban - in general story telling , in all genres.
I just turned 70. It has never occurred to me inquire as to ones sexual preference, at least until I get to know them a bit. I have been married , to a woman, since 1972. I have been unintentionally writing short stories for years. mostly based upon stories I have heard from the wonderful people I grew up around. When I was 5 years old , my best friend was in his late 60's. I always loved the old timers, and their stories and I am reputed to have a great memory for that. So, If I could make a dime off of anything I write that would be great, but the thing I wish to accomplish most, is to pass on to those who will never know, otherwise, the stories I have to share.
Male, late 40s, I write fiction, MC usually adolescent male. Growing up in the 80s seems to be my preferred setting.
Young ambitious woman around 20-ish, I transform my traumas into pieces of art. I sometimes write young adult poems. Here to learn, unlearn and relearn!!!
