I want to say Karen Russell, because I've read her book of short stories, St Lucy's Home for Girls Raised by Wolves, perhaps eight million times by now. Her writing is vivid, surreal, and gripping; it gets under your skin, tight and necessary like tendons. The world her mind inhabits is amazing, and I want to read about it over and over again. I really love her.
