As for actual reading books, I have a ton by Richard Laymon that I've read through. On my Nook, I've been going through J.A. Konrath/Jack Kilborn's ebooks like crazy. He has to be my favorite at this time.
Charlotte Bronte. I like Jane Eyre, but Villette is so much better. That is without a doubt my all time favorite book. Her descriptions are fabulous and her characters feel like she knew them in real life, complete with different facets of their personalities being revealed as the book goes on. Lucy is wonderfully modern for her time. Every time I pick it up, I'm struck by her writing.
Hunter S. Thompson. Albeit, I've only been reading the past year or two, but I love his works, every one of them. There are many books I have loved, but maybe not been as keen on the authors other works, but this guy, just does it for me.
Lydia Millet is one of my favorite authors. Muriel Barbery has written my favorite book, though it is only one of her two novels published in English. The Elegance of the Hedgehog was just breathtaking. When I was around 14 or so my favorite author was Michael Crichton, R.I.P. Zcreative
I can only name one? I have a list of favorites, but if I can only name one it would have to be Dean Koontz, I read more Koontz novels than anyone else.
Way to hard to choose just one. A few of mine are: Johann Wolfgang von Goethe- The Sorrows Of Young Werther is one of the most amazing and moving books I have ever read. J.R.R. Tolkien- Epic fantasy with LOTR at it's very best. Aldous Huxley- So out there and smart for his time, a vision of the future with Brave New World. C.S. Lewis- The Chronicles Of Narnia are an awe inspiring set of stories.
My Favourite Author has got to be C.S Forester. His most notable works were the 11-book Horatio Hornblower series, depicting a naval officer serving during the Napoleonic wars era. Forester is also famous for The African Queen, The Ship and Payment deferred
I really, really can't name just one author... that's so hard for me to do! I love Stephen King, he'd be my number one if I had to pick... .. but I also love Susan Hill, Bill Hussey, Koontz... the list goes on!
Cassandra Clare has to top my list! City of Bones has got to be the best books I've ever read( out of the hundreds I've picked up)!
Vladimir Nabokov Umberto Eco Paul Auster Italo Calvino Donna Tartt ( I LOVED The Secret History) Sarah Dunant Kate Morton Jeannette Winterson Ian mckewan J.k Rowling Jodi picoult C.S Lewis F.Scott Fitzgerald Henry James And so so many others! It is clearly impossible for me to choose just one! Oh... I must not forget the people who conceived of and wrote LOST!
Hunter S. Thompson is my favourite writer, I just wish he had written more like rum diary before he died
I'm not sure I really have one, but Tamora Pierce's writing style really hooks me, even if her protags don't.
It's always tough to identify one single actual favorite author, but someone I really think everyone should know about is Mary Doria Russell. Her sci-fi books The Sparrow and Children of God are absolutely amazing.
Poppy Z Brite. Hands down. No one else even comes close. Sadly, she's retired, and I only have 2 more books of hers to read... Oh, the depression...
i love reading Paulo coelo books.....apart form that i like virgina woolf too...they both are fabulous writers......
Same here. Although it could be argued that Stephenie Meyer is my favorite by my friends since I've read all of her books multiple times, but she's still not my favorite author. I actually like finding things wrong with her novels more then anything. I suppose that's why I've read them a bunch.
It's hard to choose a favourite, but I'd say it's Ursula K. LeGuin. The Earthsea Trilogy is my favourite set of books...I think she has an amazing writing style, I like her characters and the theme development throughout the series is thought-provoking.
Paul S. Kemp, a Forgotten Realms novelist. Fantasy is my favorite genre by far although I do enjoy suspense novels and short horror stories. ________________ Rapid Prototyping
