Who on here that writes fantasy uses anime as inspiration?

    I don't use anime as my "well" to draw upon, but my mom used to put Chibi Maruko-chan on for me to watch when it aired in the US back in the '90s, which parodied (and mirrored in more ways than one) a nuclear, Japanese family, who were just as silly as my own. I noticed that I tend to focus on a similar setting in my stories. I even sported the mushroom hair as a kid and used to tease and badger my older sister just the way Maruko does with Sakiko.

    So while I may not use anime as inspiration, I am influenced and changed by what I've seen of a few, like Chibi Maruko-chan.
