    Who's Your Favorite Comedian?

Discussion in 'Entertainment' started by Masked Mole, May 31, 2015.

I'm a huge comedy nerd, and I was interested in hearing everyone's favorite comedians.
    My list is pretty long:
    Conan O'Brien
    Brian Regan
    Martin Short
    William Haynes
    Jack Douglass
    Tim Hawkins
    Stephen Merchant
There are others, but I don't want to get carried away. Anyway, let's hear yours.

Tim Hawkins sure is great! I love that he is a Christian!
Jack Douglas and William Haynes are good.
Adam Sandler is funny, most of the time. Kevin Hart can be too. Only problem is their jokes tend to be inappropriate.

Steven Wright, hands down! I love the dry humor and the delayed laughter from the audience when it takes a few seconds to sink in.

Chris Rock is one also Katt Williams. I'm not into stand up as a form of comedy but those guys are funny.

I do not watch much TV and then the Brit shows are shown at such weird times here, but I have lucked out a couple of times now and seen either youtube episodes of BFQ or epsiodes of QI on TV and his contributions continue to impress. There's a guy who balances him so well - Ayoade or something from (Richard Ayoade) and the chemistry or interaction between them was just intense.

Ayoade is a comic genius. Very private and eccentric, but a genius nevertheless.

I have enjoyed his interview with Krishnan on Ch4 and spots on QI more than any of the IT crowd episodes.

You saw that interview? Man, I never thought I'd find someone else who knew all this obscure comedy stuff. I congratulate you, sir.

Yeah I saw it when it first came out - and then watched it again after Robert Downey Jr walked out on the same interviewer, and then realised I'd seen the Quentin Tarantino interview by the same guy also.

I seek out comedy as a remedy to brief fits of depression, so once I find someone whose comedy appeals I go looking exhaustively, which is where I found all the QI and CH4 stuff, etc.

    giving away my age here.......
Woody Allen (captures that negative self-talk, the anxious mind)
Steve Martin (like Don Quixote, the loveable over-optimist)
Ricky Gervais (not just funny but a real empath, loves all his characters, but Brent is easily his best)
Bill Cosby (no just want to see your reaction)
Rolf Harris (no just want to see your reaction, but he was a good painter)

    RALPH HARRIS!

He was on Last Comic Standing years ago, and he's been my favorite ever since. Then he came to my local comedy club, and I got to see him for my birthday. It was everything I dreamed and more! I've vowed to go see him every time he's in the area. He deserves so much more attention. He's a great comedian.

    Surprised nobody mentioned Jim Gaffigan!

Bill Burr is probably my favorite right now.

Why hasn't anybody mentioned Eddie Izzard? He's the best stand-up still working!
