why auto- italics for all quoted material?

it's annoying as all get-out and doesn't allow for the use of italics within the quoted section... is there some way to avoid having what i want to have in a quote box turn into italics, whether i want it to or not?

 

Unless there is something Daniel can do, I haven't found a way yet.

 

This was actually a problem a few years ago with an earlier version of the site. Daniel fixed it then, but it appears to be back as a result of the upgrade.

I would definitely put this on the Please Fix! list.
