This is very funny. Although I have to say - I am a conservative, but I do not take umbridge with anything the Pope has said. So many people think that all conservatives are like that manic, loud, crazy group that she sings about. We aren't all like that. Those of us who trend a bit more moderate aren't so loud, so we are easily passed over. We don't like Trump, we don't want to kick out all Muslims, we don't want to deport all the illegals, we don't treat climate change as a myth, and we have no problem with Pope Francis or his message. ...I just wanted that out there. Lest somebody here think we are all like the group of psychos she sings about. That said. Again, this is very funny.
For the record, I don't think most Conservatives are like that. But somehow they let people like that take over their political party. And the people like that aren't even in the majority of the GOP. But they seem to have excessive leverage for a minority.
Wow, thank you for all of your lovely comments! It was a wonderful surprise to find my song listed here. (I do a new one every Friday - no shortage of material these days - and I hope some of you will consider subscribing via youtube, 'psychosupermom', or on Twitter, @laurenscomedy.) Thanks!
Hi welcome to the forum. How exciting to see you poke your head in. I'll check out your website. We have a songwriters critique sub-forum that doesn't get a lot of traffic. Maybe you'd be interested in looking in from time to time to offer critique to our budding songwriters? https://www.writingforums.org/workshop/song-lyrics/

I can't stop watching the videos. I'm gonna save the link to my favorites bar. You're awesome, Lauren Mayer!
Of course, it shouldn't be "Why can't the Pope stop acting like Jesus?" It should be, "Why can't the people who call themselves Christians START acting like Jesus?" Jesus, people. It's not that complicated. Feed the hungry. Heal the sick. Love your enemy. Turn the other cheek. Help the less fortunate. Etc.
I think it's because these extremists and/or nut cases make good media. The media snaps them up, gives them air/print time, and makes it look as if their stars are in the ascendant. While all this coverage may convert some (one way or another) I don't think it's a true reflection of what the majority actually thinks. Remember all that hee-haw about Sarah Palin—hockey mom, etc? The country voted for Obama instead. Twice.
It's funny how people, left & right, seem to pick which bits of Jesus conforms with their beliefs, and then dictates that as a whole. To endanger myself of sounding hypocritical, Jesus also said (I think it's Luke 21), that the faithful should bring people like myself before the house of God (church), and be killed where I stand. How's that for loving.
Some militant atheist had probably been a total dick towards him that day, and he just spoke out of turn when Luke appeared with his quill and parchment asking for comments.
Exactly. Jesus was human and, like the rest of us, not above occasional human weakness, as this authentic historical footage shows:
