I am compelled to write by my lack of patience. I write because it's all that I'm actually good at. And I can... Little moments, tiny details, crazy insights, the death of ideas, the birth of new ones. I never decided that I like to write. It decided it liked me? Yeah... uhhh... it makes me happy? I write whatever needs to be written. I try to keep it fictional because it's ultimately more fun. If it's overwhelming and possibly absurd, then it's got potential! Take it easy lemon squeezy. -PRSNLGGGL "Irritated Vowel Syndrome"
I write to live. I write to be. As a child we grow up surrounded by a realm of magic that makes the world amazing and limitless. A child grows up and is confronted with the idea that the magic isn't real, it doesn't exist. I write to prove them wrong. I write so I can fly to Neverland and Catch them all, digivolve, pull the sword from the stone, and reach my destiny. Writing allows me to help others and myself remember that magic is real. When you are walking along on a cool fall day and the chills run up your arm and you feel that sense of magic and your imagination runs away, that's magic's way of telling you it's still there you just have to look for her. I write so the world can take a deep breath and plunge into itself and become a child again. We never grow up society just tries to keep us from being ourselves.

Molded into anything my mind comes up with.
This has changed for me. I realized the power of written words. I write when I have something to say.
1-2. I dream about stories or how scenes would be set up, about how characters move and the expressions they have for each other. The slightest change in the scene represents a whole new story that could be written and if i don't write it down i'll either lose the line of thought or move on to the next scene and forget the first. 4. The persistent need to write and teachers who keep telling me that research papers are not story books. 5. I write fantasy because it's fun to create my own world and my own rules to play by, but also because anything can happen and people can see things how i do.
I just write the kinda stories I'd like to read. I'll think like "it'd be cool to read a story about a Norwegian black-metal band", and instead of looking for one, I'll just write one. I write because libraries make me really, really uncomfortable. Also it's fun. And I was always better at it than most of the other kids I went to school with. Which isn't really saying much, but it's not very often that I'm better at something than someone. So. Yeah. I write general fiction type stuff - sometimes set in the 20s or 30s or 60s or 90s. I guess 'cause mobsters, hobos, hippies, and a world where Apple sucked butts are fun to write about. Right now I have no sense of plot, so none of my stories ever get really far. Which is kinda frustrating, 'cause I've got all these characters I really wanna use for stuff. Almost all of them are between the ages of 11 and 14 and have a physical disability. I have no idea why.
What compels you to write? The desire to create: something complete, beautiful, and wholly mine. A story that can define me as a writer. Why do you write? I have very few things I'm passionate about. My world would seem less bright if I didn't write down the plot bunnies in my head, for they're very persistent! I love the feeling of, after years of developing and nurturing a single idea, to have it fully written down. It makes me feel proud that it's mine. What makes you write what you write? My influences, obviously -- Tolkien, Peter S. Beagle, Fuyumi Ono. I love a good fantasy story, the more creative the better! No matter the subject, I'll more than likely come away inspired in some shape or form. When looking at all these unique places and characters people have created, I can't help but want to make one of my own. To write something that will leave the reader just as inspired as I was. What made you decide you liked to write? Even when the question of "Do I really like to write, or am I just forcing myself?" came up, I still kept writing. It's instinctual. To not write would be wrong. What do you write? High fantasy.
What compels you to write? I suppose I read a lot, and watch a lot of films, listen to a lot of music... and after a while you can get ideas, and they develop until you just want to write them down and become part of what you love... Why do you write? It's the best form of escapism... it's one thing reading, or watching it... but creating it. It's your own ballpark. Anything can happen. When life is boring sometimes the written word is the only thing that can spice it up. What makes you write what you write? It's possibly something that I would want to happen to me. What do you write? A mixture Drama, Sci-fi, Fantasy and a genre I like to call anti-romance.
That most definitely applies to me. Also from a science/non-fictional background I never really wrote anything creative until about half a year ago. My field for creativity has mostly been music, have even made a living of it for a while. What held me back from writing was never any lack of ideas -- The last really good idea for a short story I had I gave to a friend who is a professional writer -- the story has actually been published. The one thing that kept me was comparing what I wrote to my ideals. Very hard to achieve, if you strive for a mixture of Terry Pratchett, Bret Easton Ellis, Stephen Fry and Arthur Schnitzler. I have been playing World of Warcraft for a long while. First I thought a roleplay server was the thing for me, but I was kind of disappointed realizing to which extent people stuck to clichés all the time. I have got a different concept of roleplay than most other players -- I want my character to become alive. So I tried to write little scenes, a little cv, etc., for one of my characters; and spontaneously decided to write more, now delighted to be able to molest my fellow players with my strange stories
Yeahh, i write to escape. It's cool to imagine to be someone else and have a total different personailty with a different atmosphere. I love writing, i have been inspired since i as young. And now all i think about it story, setting and characters.
