    What compells you to write?
I think I might be crazy. If I don't deal with the story, it will deal with me...

    Why do you write?
so the satyrs will bring back my puppy

What makes you write what you write?
drunken unicorns, mostly, at knifepoint. You'd think they'd just use their horns, but they can be such divas about keeping them clean. Always with the polishing. And the drinking.

What Made you decide you liked to write?
It likes me, and I crave positive reinforcement.

    What Do You Write?
Fantasy & Horror, mostly. Mostly. Although I did crank out a children's novel about the Armenian Genocide for a historical fiction contest. Although that ended up being kind of a horror story, too. Sadly, it did not win...

    What compels you to write?
For as long as I can remember, I have always had worlds and characters populating my imagination. They are inspired by the tremendous beauty and interest I find in the world around me.

    Why do you write?
I write because I think that the ideas in my head are strange, beautiful, and fascinating and would like to share them with others.

What makes you write what you write?
I am a very visual person, so it is usually some image of striking interest or beauty that inspires me. This usually unfolds into a scenario with characters and conflict, most of it dark and bloody. There is always this tension between natural beauty and disease, violence, and death.

What Made you decide you liked to write?
When I was a child, my mother read to me almost every day. I read my first book before I even started school. I started writing stories when I was about seven or eight. I've always enjoyed the heady wine that my muse pours (or rather, spills) copiously into my imagination.

    What Do You Write?
Mostly dark fantasy novels. I also enjoy writing surreal short fiction and a bit of sci fi. I find the challenge of trying to create photo-realistic fantasy quite satisfying.

1.I have a passion for writing, so I love it. If I don't, I strangly try to live it.

2.My passion, since I good at it. It makes me happy, been doing to over 5 years.

3.I have great idea, I decide people would like them too. So I write what I do. Besides I like feedback on anything I do, and writing I get feedback.

4.I am good at it, my friends say I would be a great book writer one day. It just came with story telling since I was little. Story telling became into writing.

5.Drama(with a touch of romance), fiction, action and cross overs. Because crosses make it bigger and enjoyable. Novels, fanasty.

    2. Er, to get the stories out?

    3. Being too opinionated.

    4. Only recently started writing again - i'm more compelled to do music than to write, but i enjoy it so far.

    5. I write generally speculative science fiction horror.

You know, the funny thing is, if you asked me these questions months ago, I wouldn't have been able to answer them. At that point in time I just wanted to simply "write", but I didn't know WHY I wanted to.

Now, after a few good months of coming out of my shell and that guise that just convinced me I'd never write something worthwhile, I have answers. And pretty stable ones for sure.

    What compells you to write?
I'm compelled to write because I want to offer something really entertaining for other people to read. Something really, really good.

    Why do you write?
Though I'm still getting into the habit, I write because it's something else to do when I have nothing to do :D

What makes you write what you write?
If no one already knows, I love the fantasy and sci-fi genres. They are my absolute favorites. And because of those stories that just boggle my mind, I want to write really good stories focused in those genres.

What Made you decide you liked to write?
Coming up with my current idea for a novel. It had been an idea I had shelved months ago. But again, coming out of my shell made me realize how really good it was for a start.

    What do you Write?
    Fantasy and Sci-fi.

I find it hard to believe actually that on a site dedicated to writing we are fifty odd pages into a thread and people are still using a template with a spelling mistake! However moving on...

    What compels you to write?

I have an idea for a story and then I begin to create the scenarios in my head. I see things happening around me and I find it useful to get then down on paper as it were. For me writing is a completely cathartic experience.

    Why do you write?

I enjoy it. I suppose I can express myself in stories in a way that I can't in real life.

What makes you write what you write?

I like to describe things. I also often write some romance into my books although I would never read that kind of thing.

What Made you decide you liked to write?

A rather embarassing admission to make but I am afraid it was JK Rowling. I read the early Harry Potter books and then discovered fanfiction. I decided to try it and enjoyed it for a while. I then gave but more recently I had an idea and then embarked on an original novel

    What Do You Write?

I am writing an action/adventure/spy story with a romance running through it. I am having great fun actually but am struggling to find good places to post it

    My Truths

    1. My boredom actually compells me to write anything.

    2. I write because I like to be creative in my mind and thought.

    3. My thoughts and feelings makes me to write. In fact, my fingers gets itchy as I wish to run my fingers through the keyboard and tempt me to write my mind out.

    4. My creative thoughts... One day I realized that I could write btter than my friends, then and there I thought to write anything which gives the way out to my creative mind.

    5. In fact, I am just a beginner in this writing field. I have plans that someday I would want to become a good writer. I hope that day will definitely come.

I write because it eventually feels good to hold something in your hand that is worth something. The worth doesn't have to be money. It often isn't. It feels good to work on something and then after the day or week or month you can say, This piece is as good as I'm going to get it.

It feels really really good to finish a piece. Too often we leave a story or article or thought hanging out there in the ether. It takes a will to complete; it takes dedication--a kind of courage.

These are traits are don't have. Writing helps me realize that. I'd rather stand up and do dishes than work on a paragraph. These chat boards can be deadly when it comes to taming the soul.

Oh how I love to wander about my home.

If it weren't for writing I'd be completely unemployable.

What compels you to write? - I need to express my thoughts in a way that I cannot do by any other means. The satisfaction from reading words that I have put together to tell a good story is a rush.
Why do you write? -It's been my dream since childhood to be a writer, so I packed in a 20-year banking career to give it a shot.
What makes you write what you write? I was inspired at an early age after reading Story of O.
What Made you decide you liked to write? I loved the English language the moment I was able to speak it. Words are like pieces of a puzzle. When they are put together in the right places—the results form a beautiful picture.

The number one reason I write is because we humans have horrible memories- if I don't write my stories become babblings

Secondly, because I have the ability to do so and it is the best way for me to express myself, I'd be remiss if didn't

Thirdly, because it's fun when you make yourself wonder what happens next, or what does that mean.

    Everything else is filler

    What compells you to write?
That fact that I'm hell to live with when I'm not writing.

    Why do you write?
I'm not good at anything else.

What makes you write what you write?
    A need to tell a story/explore someone else's life/control events/create memorable characters.

What Made you decide you liked to write?
A teacher, who pointed out an "obvious love for words" that I hadn't really noticed I had.

    What Do You Write?
Fantastical/romantic fiction, often with Sapphic undertones.

    What compells you to write?
Usually guilt mixed with fear... the fact that I'm too engrossed with researching the business of writing rather than actually doing some... fear of failure, I think... :/

    Why do you write?
I have ideas that I desperately want people to share and validate.

What makes you write what you write?
A sneaky suspicion that no one writes what I write... a nose for a niche market... also the fact I enjoy reading my own stuff as much as I like hearing my own voice.

What made you decide you liked to write?
When I got so engrossed in my story I would put off food to finish a chapter. I wish I could feel like that again!!

    What Do You Write?
I analysed myself a little some time ago. It seems all that my works have in common is dry-as-a-biscuit humour mixed with heavy doses of silliness, elements of unflinching horror, always rooted somehow in the past, and usually set in or nearby my local area. As to plots... I will write anything that inspires me, but usually something fantastical!

What compels you to write? Nothing compels me. But I need it. Without writing I am motionless

Why do you write? I believe God gave me a gift of words and writing. I use this gift to teach things from my childhood and life t help children and young adults to learn from my mistakes and the things I write about.

What makes you write what you write? to teach, so others can learn and achieve what I have learned in my entire life. Plus I love it

What Made you decide you liked to write? nothing, it's like breathing and blood pulsating throughout my body. It is natural and second nature to me.

What Do You Write? I write christian, gay or lesbian themed stories. not all at once. I have to write, no question.

    What compells you to write?

That's a very good question. It's something inside me that has always been there. Like a very small china elephant that won't go away unless I pay it some attention.

    Why do you write?

I know it sounds melodramatic but I write because it is the only thing I have ever wanted to do, the only thing that makes me feel alive. Nothing else has ever interested me. I'm not sure really but when I was a kid I was bullied pretty badly, mentally and physically ( from the ages of 5 to 17) and this kind of made me lose all interest in life. I turned to writing as an escape. Now I still struggle to have any interest in life apart from writing. Was I born to write or did the bullying turn me into a writer. I'm not sure I will ever know.

What makes you write what you write?

I tend to lean towards horror/ fantasy and humour. Maybe its because I can see the horror in small mundane things or maybe it is because I am ( deep down) slightly twisted and insane.

What Made you decide you liked to write?

Its the little china elephant again. I sometimes wish that I had been born with a desire to do something else. Like maybe design technology or car mechanics. Life would be so much easier, but unfortunately until you get published, its not like working a shift and getting paid at the end of the month. I may spend the rest of my life having money problems but the way I look at it is this, even if I never get published I will be doing what I was born to do . More importantly, even if I never get published, hopefully I will leave behind a body of work for my grandchildren and their grandchildren. Maybe I just want to live forever in some small way, maybe that's all it is ? Maybe my desire to write is just a feeble attempt at immortality ? ( I am a deep thinker ! Maybe another reason why I write).

    What Do You Write?

Horror, fantasy, humour, twisty tales. However at the moment I am trying my hand at different genres and styles.

    What compells you to write?
Probably boredom, but could be something else and i just dont realize it lol

    Why do you write?
Its something to do on those really crappy days, and its something i can continue even if i dont work on it for weeks or months

What makes you write what you write?

Music, when I'm writing the mood of the story is usually determined by whatever im listening to.

What Made you decide you liked to write?

Not sure, just started on a really cold, rainy day and do it every once in awhile since.

    What do you Write?

    Whatever comes to mind

    What compels you to write?

Honestly, probably my overactive imagination. I get way too many voices fighting each other for attention that they had to be let out somewhere

    Why do you write?

It's the form of creative expression I truly get. There's something about the written word, a well turned phrase, a perfectly formed paragraph that speaks to me on a very emotional level.

What makes you write what you write?

I honestly don't know. I tend to discovery write and sometimes the things I write and the way a scene goes can surprise me!

What made you decide you liked to write?

I don't remember a time I didn't like to write. It just progressed naturally from my love of reading.

    What do you write?

I've always been a big reader of SciFi and Fantasy, so I tend to gravitate towards that style of writing. Though this isn't a hard and fast rule.

    What compells you to write?

I am compelled to write when I see something inspiring from another author/musician/artist. Their work and the way it excites reminds me of what I am doing and why.

    Why do you write?

I write because I am a storyteller. It's not a job title, or a personality trait, it's just what I am. The characters in my stories are as real to me as the people around me, and I would be doing them a great injustice by not bringing them into existence.

What makes you write what you write?

I write about characters overcoming difficult goals. My characters usually have a trait or ability that separates them for the rest, and that ability is what allows them to accomplish something that nobody would have ever expected them to. I do this because I enjoy seeing my characters reach their potentials.

What Made you decide you liked to write?

Probably the fact that I would often rather spend an entire day reading/watching a television show than going outside.

    What Do You Write?

Character driven stories that have elements of fantasy. Most of all my work is fantasy and all of it is definitely fiction.

    What compels you to write?
It's not so much a compulsion as a natural progression. If one has the ability and inspiration to paint, they do so. If one has the ability and inspiration to sculpt, they do so. I have the ability and inspiration to write, so I do.

    Why do you write?
Because I have a horrible memory. I have a story in my mind. It's not gonna stay there for very long so I need to get it down on paper as soon as I can. I don't know how many wonderful storylines I've lost because I thought of it and forgot it by the time I got to a computer or found a pen.

What makes you write what you write?
It's what I'm good at. I find it hard to write something out of character for me.

What made you decide you liked to write?
I honestly don't know. I've told stories since before I remember. Once I wrote one down it seemed natural. I wrote a story years ago and I've been doing it ever since.

    What do you write?
Sci-fi, psychological fiction, fantasy, humor (usually mixed into one of the previous genres)

    What compels you to write?
It's the thrill and the rush of creating a scenario in your head which is only controllable at the tips of your fingers.
    Why do you write?
I write to please. I want people to enjoy my hidden talent with a cup of coffee in the morning.
What makes you write what you write?
    Intuition.
What Made you decide you liked to write?
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas to be perfectly honest. I never was in to writing until I sat down and read this book. Journalism was an interest before, but Thompson's style of writing (gonzo), gripped me more than ever.
    What Do You Write?
    Anything, everything, something.
