Why? Why? Why don't they use other colours?

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by Torana, Oct 4, 2008.

Seriously, I went up town today to get some stuff to make rocky road. It is fun to make with the kids, and messy too. So they really enjoy it.
In doing so, I had to get marshmallows. Now I don't mind the fact that they are always white and pink, but why don't they make them any other colour?

What is wrong with having red, green, blue, brown or even orange marshmallows? Why do they have to be pink and white all the damn time?

LOL. Halloween is coming up. We have a ton of black, orange, and brown ones. Red and green will be coming soon for Christmas.

Bah, it all looks the same in your stomach anyway. :p (And just as yummy sticking your teeth together!) Marshmallow peeps seem to have more variation, though, if you really want them multi-colored and not mind them weirdly-shaped.

Yeah but I have just realized that color makes a difference. I bought a pack od Dots gumdrops. THey were the special Halloween ghost ones. All the drops look the same but retain their individual flavor. I didn't realize how much sight cues affected flavor. SO maybe on some level it does make a difference.

And then you should shape them into things.
    Like body organs.
    It could be educational. xD

Umm Tori - it is Halloween season here. Not only can you find skull marshmallows but I thought of you the other day. There was a coffins (about 1 1/2 feet high) filled with chocolate covered marshmallows shaped like various body parts. Eyes, ears, fingers, etc. It was called the Macabre Mallows.

So I guess there are some benefits to living in NY. You can find just about anything here. It makes up for the annoying crowds and such.
