Most of my searching is for either business or pleasure. It's the curious searches that would count for the worst. Like this website that shows graphic deaths or murders this dude online dared me to look at.

Due to growing up in the ghetto, I'm pretty desensitized to, well, everything, so the website didn't bother me. But it's there, sitting in my search history.

I've searched poisons and how they're derived. Getting ricin from castor beans, extracting cianide from peach pits, almonds or apple seeds.

There's a web page out there somewhere called 'Fun with high explosives'.

I've searched various hand guns, but that was also window shopping.

And on more political notes I've search for information on several dissident movements.

If anyone was watching, I'm not sure which would have caused the most concern.

I think I've got a new low... My MC at this moment in the story has a 5-year-old Son, so I wanted to look up behaviors, cognitive abilities, etc. of a 5-year-old, granted it's my own world so I can make them as advanced as I want, but still I would like to keep it some what close to reality, though I may cheat a bit. :p .

But anyways, it's not so much search for the 5-year-old material, as opposed to what I may find, the sort of stuff that gets the NSA interested in you, thankfully that hasn't happened and ON youtube I found some helpful vids. Looks like I maybe somewhat safe with the cognitive abilities of my MC's son, and possibly the children of others.

    Where do I even begin?

It all depends on where your moral compass rests. I've had to research consequences for engaging in incest and underage sex (my main character is in an incestuous relationship with his brother had has been since he was in his teens). I'm also in the midst of researching best ways to kill someone through head blows for a short story I'm working on for Camp Nano.

My search history is filled with all of that and also includes animal anatomy because of writings I've done with others.

That's...actually OK, I think. Parents might check up on that to see what an average 5-year-old does in comparison to their own kid.

    It's tame. :p

I work with that age group and I've done research regarding children because of my job. I think you'll be safe. :) You can also ask any (proper) childcare worker who's had training that relies on behavioral methods for teaching/caring for children.

    :D

He was $300 an hour, or 4-hour discounted rate, as well as a day rate and a weekly rate.

Alas, he was not for me. He was for the female villain in my current WIP. Then I had to do the currency conversion back to 1980...ETA which was $99 and change.

Cryptocurrency is used almost exclusively by criminals. It's pretty much a novelty to most anyone else.

There might be something endearing about a hyper intelligent five year old who still gets excited about playing marbles.

Umm... okay, I guess I can admit...
There is nothing wrong with me, I swear...
What happens if you stab yourself in the heart?
The worst thing is (well, good for me, because I got the info I wanted), I actually found a quora post in which someone asked that, and they were given a very detailed, in depth post of what would happen, and how to do it.
Yeah, I think that's the worst thing in my search history.

    That's cute ;)

I guess it seems not so grim next to extreme gore, but I was recently doing some research into anorexia. I've sort of diagnosed this one character with ED-NOS, and it's a more complicated dysmorphia, but to get more insight I decided to look at some pro-ana blogs and such. Turns my stomach, anyway -- if only to think about the people visiting these places for actual ~thinspo~ instead of research.

    Oooo, where to start...?
"Suicide by Belladonna" was one were (or where? arrrg!) I found a rather detailed page about suicide-prevention hotlines. :p
"Effects of belladonna on infants" was another one, didn't get much of an answer though.

However, by far my most humilitating - which happened when I started to write "seriously" was : "Difference between where or were." Sadly I still do the mistake of using the incorrect one, especially if I am tired or not paying attention to my writing.

I can imagine it is rough on the stomach. Largely I try and avoid most of that
realistic stuff, because people do have some strange and damaging disorders
that frankly disturb me. It takes some extreme psychological damage to follow
through with the thoughts associated with dismorphia. It still creeps me a bit
out that there was a lady that blinded herself with drain cleaner so she could be
    happier with her life.

Searches several times a week for videos of cysts/haemotomas/dilated pores of winer on YouTube. I'm a sporner.

    The penis fish.

I read a lot about serial killers.

I want to find out if there's an effective way of removing all traces of blood stains, but I'm genuinely afraid I will accidentally murder somebody and the evidence of my search will make it seem like I meant to.

Yeah the easiest way to remove all traces of blood is either acid wash, or good old fashioned gas and match approach. :p

What about on a carpet? Like, if the police came round and saw a massive acid burn in the middle of my carpet, I would have some explaining to do...
