For the first two novels, I barely did any marketing at all. I basically didn't know crap and just uploaded my word files, slapped together a couple covers in Photoshop using public domain images and put them out at 99 cents each. I told some people on a couple message boards I frequented and my personal Facebook page, but that was it as far as marketing. I didn't really start doing serious marketing until late last year. I did some Facebook ads, but honestly the return on those wasn't great. I've done a bunch of promotions with the first books in my series and put out ads on a lot of different mailing lists including BookBarbarian and BargainBooksy. I've tried to get a BookBub but have not as yet been successful. I have an author Facebook and Twitter account and an author blog as well. I don't do mailing lists though. I probably should but it's difficult working a full time job, writing a couple thousand words a day and also trying to do marketing. I don't know when I'd have time to put together a news letter.
