    Writing from Songs

Discussion in 'Word games' started by Gregory, Jul 15, 2008.

This is something we did in a seminar at my old University. Pick a random song, read the lyrics and write a short piece from either a single line, the whole song and so forth.

It's just a little exercise that gets your imagination flowing and gives you an immediate source for inspiration. I thought I'd suggest it, see what people think. If you do this, post in the Review Forum and add Writing from Songs to the title.

No. If you want to attempt the exercise, you should probably do so here rather than in the Review Room. Of course if it becomes more than just the exercise, and you want to develop it into a solid piece of writing, that would be a different matter.

If you quote a song lyric, you must include the name of either the artist or the original lyricist, and the title of the song.
