Fall/Winter - Dining room table in front of wood stove. Music in my ears, coffee at hand, and a dog at my feet.

Spring/Summer - Front porch overlooking the lake. Music in my ears, coffee at hand, and a dog at my feet.

I'd LOVE to sit at a desk... but all of the desk drawers at my house are too short for me.
So instead, it's a sofa... and I seem to write best in the months of autumn and winter, though I had been trying to write something for two years now, from the summer of 2011 on. I typically snack on Wint-O Mints while working, and some tea by my side. I write in journal notebooks between three to five chapters of a given story before I need a break and write shorter stories, though I honestly have yet to have a short story stand on its own.
This month, though, I haven't had my Wint-O Mints... and I'm going crazy without them. I can live without tea, but those bags...! I have to hang in there until I get paid on the weekend...

Everywhere and anywhere; I need to invest in a small, long-life computer, in order that I may sit in a café and sip coffee while I work!

I write at my table, its at the window and nice and sunny. I do have an office but its darker and colder in there - I only use it in the evening if I want to play sims on my pc. I don't have a printer for my laptop though, so if I want to print something I have to transfer it all with a memory stick. But that's okay because printer ink is SO UNBELIEVABLY EXPENSIVE! Seriously, wtf is with that? You cannot tell me that stuff is that expensive to make.

It changes, though always with my MacBook Air.

Mostly my house, then either on my bed or couch (I do have a home office but that's for work). If my husband is watching television then it's on my bed; if he's out or in his home office, it's on my couch. I always need background noise, usually either my earphones in or with the television or a movie that I've seen a million times on. Usually with a diet coke and chips or chocolate. And always, ALWAYS, with my two cats by my side.

And occasionally, a cafe. But not often.

nope, american born and bred... and the british practice of adding milk to oversteeped tea is an affront to the deliciously flavored/scented leaves, imo... i've been a morning tea-imbiber for decades, but can't tell you why or how i got 'turned' as my parents and both husbands [consecutive, not concurrent!] were coffee-drinkers...

could have started thanks to having frequented chinese restaurants... sadly, aging has caused me to have to drop caffeine, so i can no longer indulge in my favorites, oolong and jasmine... :(... my daily dose is now restricted to de-caf green tea, but it's still a hands-down winner over coffee...

I prefer to write either on the porch overlooking the stream or sitting in the tree by the stream. There's even a blanket in the tree. But when it's too cold (like now), I have a desk in front of the window. I can see the stream from here, so that's comforting. Even if the stream is frozen solid. *sob*

Where I write is pretty boring, just sitting at my computer desk in my room with the door shut. On long trips (where I’m not required to do the driving) I like to take notebooks along, though I don’t write this way all the time because my handwriting is barely legible.

Where I do my best brainstorming though is a different place. For some reason I always seem to come up with my best ideas in the shower. I assume it’s some combination of being relaxed, having complete privacy (which is rare in my house,) and the running water as the perfect white noise to drown out any distractions. I’m ADD and on a bad day even soft music or someone talking/watching TV a couple of rooms away is enough to make it impossible for me to focus. :(

I'm going to have to come up with a new system/place though once I move in a couple of weeks.

Then I'm not the only one!
I've come up with several ideas for stories while in the shower, and I've solved numerous programming-problems the same way.
It's too bad I can't write in the shower... :(

I used to drown myself in endless cups of coffee, now I hardly ever drink the stuff. It's tea with milk, no sugar, for me :) I write at my reproduction antique desk, a side of which has been chewed off by my dog mere days after the damn thing was purchased (desk, not the dog). I have a tiffany lamp on the table top, a new iMac and a stack of books on either side. Super comfy chair and a view to a jungle of plants in my conservatory. It sounds fancier than it really is, but it's comfortable and lacks distractions (apart from the internet connection, which I sometimes turn off or I'd never get any work done). Most other times I have my iPad handy, so I write in that if the inspiration strikes when I'm away from my desk.

I neither drink coffee nor tea. :p

I need internet for streaming music as I write, but I mostly manage to shut it out using Scrivener's full-screen mode.

@Komposten: I have no self control when it comes to accessing the internet when I should be working (right now, I'm editing a chapter and I'm here again! It's sad) so I need more drastic measures :D

Everywhere. I write whenever and wherever I feel like it. I have probably written more outside of the home, such as in school, at parks, at work, than at my desk. Never written anything in a coffee shop, however.

I write in a different town or village, of one country or another, every day.
Today for instance, I have a fast flowing river by my side which only a few days ago was inside the guest house I will sleep in tonight. I have written while listening to the sound of rain on my tent and cockerels announcing the start of a new day.
Sometimes, I have to slam on the brakes and write down the words which have just popped into my head. I don't know if it will make me a good writer, but I'm having fun trying.
Just in case you're wondering, I'm cycling from Wales to New Zealand.

I write on my laptop at the dining room table. I too, get distracted by the Internet. I find myself checking e-mails and this forum when I reach a stopping point in my story. Back and forth, back and forth. :(

I believe that I have one more thing to add to the couch. An electric blanket wrapped around me, since I am very conservative about how I use my heating.

I know as writers we should write everyday or regularly but when you have deadline or something get in your way, how do you write in your hectic times? because I know most probably you guys have a lot of responsibilities to dealt with.
    do share :D

Honestly, I usually don't. That's not meant as advice, just a factual report. :(

Often if other stuff gets in the way I don't write properly. I do still scribble down ideas as they come to me so I have lots of material to write with when I'm less busy. I still try to write a little bit so I schedule in a few minutes but often I'll end up either writing what I normally write a day in a week or just sleep less if I'm in a writing mood.
