The fact that you didn't already have one was a bit surprising, actually. Or perhaps it's just the fact that I'm not as creative as you lot, and so picked one of the most popular screen names on the internet. Either way. *cracks fingers* I'll read anything I can get my hands on, and have been this way since I could read. Stephen King's a good author half the time, and I'm a fan of his Dark Tower series, as well as his Pet Cometary. Sara Douglass is epic for Sci-fi, Nora Roberts does an okay job at romance, and Salvator is a pretty good read. Any one who can write accurately on King Henry VIII is good too. I've been reading since age 3, and have been writing since I was eight or nine. I'm currently planning out a story which will probably turn into my NaNoWriMo this year. Who knows. I might finish planning before November, but then I won't have a NaNo, and that's no fun, now, is it? Also, this smiley wins all: "Eek" indeed. ... You lot've probably received the longest welcome post I've ever made on myself. EDIT: Why am I listed as a boy? *blinks*
Hello xxxx, Welcome to the Writing Forums. If you suffered a gender change by joining, send a PM (private message) to Daniel, the site owner. Only he can reverse the electronic transgendering, and he won't even leave a scar. Posting your own work should not be the very first thing you do here. It is really worthwhile to see what other people have done to improve their writing, and see if some of it applies to your writing as well. That is part of why we require members to review other members' work before posting their own for review. On the other hand, there are no restrictions, other than content and copyright rules, on showcasing your work in your member blog. If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Review Room, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. Remember to check out our FAQ as well, and be sure to read through the forum rules, too, to avoid any misunderstandings or hurt feelings. Respect for one another is our principal mandate. As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize reviewing as a critical writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Review Room forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Review Room forum). See this post, Why Write Reviews Before Posting My Work? for more information. Enjoy your stay here, and have fun!
Were you, by any chance, on YWS before this? And welcome to the Writing Forums! It's a great place so far. Lots of fun to post your stories and to review others. /CreakingSilence/
I'm recruiting a few people . XD. I said it before and say it again, I hated the administration, not the people. It became too stressful.
