The forum can't count... or has a stutter.

 

I feel like it's a message of some sort, but I'm really not clear how to act on it. Go buy a lottery ticket with the number "3" in it? But what do I do about all the OTHER numbers?

Come on, Universe! I'm willing to be guided, but I need a little more information!

 

I had to refresh my notifications. The box was checked to get email notices of PMs but they stopped coming about the same time the board was worked on. I checked, hit save even though there were no changes and now the email notices are coming again.

 

This is less of a bug and more of a preference, but I think that the contrast of the dates/time posted is too low in the individual subforums. On the main page it is fine if not perfect. This is in regards to the standard theme.

 

Anyone else have broken animated emojis?


I'm using Chrome with Windows 7, and a plug-in that blocks Flash. (If it were the plug-in, wouldn't all of the animated emojis be broken? Not just those unlucky ones?)

I can't see them either. I did a quick check and it seems that the smileys that are broken are hosted on another site, and that particular site is currently down so WF can't access and load the images. I'll see what we can do about it.

ETA: The smileys that still work are loaded from WF's server, which is why they still work.

 

I've got them fixed for now but I could not find the one we had before with the little hearts over his head and I really dislike the one I could find. If anyone can come across a url for the one we had before, it would be appreciated.

This is not a new problem nor is it an issue. When you click on a thread with new posts, it opens the thread at the newest post you've not read. But with older threads (some started many years earlier) instead of opening on the latest post, it opens on the first post in the thread. But you then have the option of clicking on "first unread post". Seriously, it's not an issue.

 

I am trying to donate to the server fundraiser, but for some reason your Paypal link is not accepting my email or password. It's not a problem with Paypal itself, because when my details were rejected on the Forum site I entered the Paypal site independently to check if there was anything wrong with my account. There isn't. I got into Paypal no problem. So there is some problem with the link you've provided, I reckon.

 

I can confirm this. The exact same happens to me (WF rejects my PayPal info, but PayPal.com accepts it). I've tried clearing the cache and using different browsers.

@Daniel, I'm tagging you here since this is a rather severe bug if it affects all/most users.

 

There's something that's bugging me, and I'll be happy to post a screenshot if someone will tell me how.

The past few days, the blue Writing Forums banner at the top of the page has come down so far it covers the links back to the Forums page. For awhile I could get there if I deleted everything in the address box after "writingforums.org, but lately even that doesn't work. The only way I can go check out another forum is if I refresh the page and click on "Forums" really, really quickly, before the banner descends and covers the link once more. More often than not, I'm too late and my click just activates the Bookstore dropdown menu.

This happens on every page I manage to get to. Whatever's at the top is obscured by the blue banner. It's messing up the site navigation and is getting really frustrating.

 

This came up before, I think it happened on some people's mobile devices.

 

Hmm. It's happening on my laptop. It didn't use to.

 

What happens if you resize the screen?

 

No difference. Same problem.

What browsers are you using?

 

chrome (got a chromebook). Will try firefox on this tablet... hold on

 

firefox didn't work either. Tried android browser, but that failed completely (perhaps someone is trying to fix problem)

 

Could you post an image of what it looks like?
