From the time I learned about novels, I slowly learned one thing that a novel is successful with a mixture of good advertising and good writing. Most of the books that are famous are good but there are books that are even better but are not famous. There are thousands of novels out there and we might not even know about them. It is just advertising by the publishers or when a movie or game is based upon the book. So, here we want to create a list of books by genre with recommendations from each member. Masses are unaware of great unidentified books. However, for the sake of respect we will also list some famous books, if you wish. Series: Bartimaeus Trilogy Name of Book: The Amulet of Samarkand, The Golem's Eye, Ptolemy's Gate Author: Jonathan Stroud General Rating (0-5): 3.5 Main Genre: Fantasy Alternative Genre: Light Humour Age Group: 10+ Potential: It is not quite famous but it is a great book. Your Say: The book is set in London where magicians are out in the open and rule the country. However, magicians have no power of their own. They rely on beings they summon from the Other World. The djinni, Bartimaeus is possibly the main protagonist and gives us great laughs. However, as the story advances, the humour slowly slides away. In between, tragic losses and powerful emotions. Merits: 1) This book provides a great plot with all sub-plots linking together like many damaged nets binding together to form the perfect net without overlaps. Alternatively, the main plots of all three books join together to form another great plot. 2) The powerful emotions and great humour are woven so well together that you are left spell-bounded. 3) It provides chapters from many character's perspectives. 4) In Bartimaeus' perspective you are invited to a second-person view. 5) Excellent cliffhangers when changing perspectives. 6) History of magicians is also told in between talks. Demerits: 1) The cliffhangers disappoint you. Just when you were hoping for the great moment to happen it changes to another person. And then while at the end of that person's perspective you are left with another cliffhanger. They are good but just a tiny bit of disappointment.
