    G'day, Mates

Discussion in 'New Member Introductions' started by Jez.B, Oct 2, 2019.

    Just another new member.
As the thread title might suggest, I'm from the beautiful northern suburbs of Sydney, Australia.

I've been writing on and off since I was in school, although I've taken it far more seriously over the past few years. I mostly write sci-fi and, historically, I've always tried to keep things as scientifically possible & accurate as I can. Though lately I've enjoyed relaxing this and just going for more of a scientifically plausible stance.

Three things to know about me outside of writing:
    - I'll be a first time dad in just under 4 months
    - Obsessed with photography - Particularly astrophotography
    - 1 year shy of the big 30.

I look forward to getting to know everyone.

Hi Jez! I'm one of the forum moderators here, and want to welcome you to the forum.

A new dad! Wow. As Saphry said, you've got some exciting times ahead. And being a parent certainly can give a new perspective to writers. And writing can give you something to think about while you're dandling the child ...and dandling you will certainly be.

Sci-fi is a very popular genre with our forum members, so you should find quite a few people who understand what it takes to be sci-fi writers, as well as many who simply like to read it. (Me. :) ) I'm sure you'll fit in well.

Please take the time to become familiar with the following two areas of the forum. The first is specifically targetted at New Members, to help them get oriented. The second is our Rules section, which will keep you right as regards forum behaviour, etc.

Thanks for the warm welcome jannert.

I'm very nervous, but so excited about it as well. I'm sure my little one will open up a whole new world of inspiration for my writing.

I'll be sure to let you know if I run into any problems here :)
