    How do I sell articles to magazines?

    Do I reaserch magazines individually? Is there another way?
    Is there an agent for magazines?
    there are 1000's of magazines.

    There are indeed thousands of magazines, but the best way of researching where to send your work is through www.duotrope.com. It's pretty much the essential online tool for the short story/article writer.

    Agents don't generally represent anything shorter than a novel.

    that's right...

    agents won't rep articles unless the writer is already a client and is well known for some reason...

    you send the article with a cover letter...

    Duotrope is damned useful. But also when you've found a mag to send to, don't forget to follow their submission guidelines closely.
